I was just wondering, how are some of the ways some of you have pulled off and carried out these plays without gaining too much heat on yourself?
I usually push an equal bet into the betting circle to signal for double down instead of jumping up and down and yelling, "HIT IT, B***H, HIT IT NOW, COME ON TEN, COME ON COME ON BIG TEN, WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!"
The only heat-inducing plays on the I18 is splitting tens and doubling on soft 19. Everything else is stuff that people do often enough so as not to be suspicious when you do it. If the dealer asks you if you really want to stand on hard 16, just say something vague, like, "I've been hitting it all day, I'm going to try standing this time."
If you're playing a H17 game, chances are the dealer has already made some remark about doubling soft 19 vs. dealer 6 already (which is BS in H17). So that's not usually a problem. Splitting 10's is always suspicious, and I never do it, except for the one time I did it , but that was because I was leaving Vegas in an hour anyway.
