Lucky Ladies is awful

Looking at the WoO analysis, this sidebet has a 24.9% and 17.64% HE for the better payout on 2 and 6 deck, respectively. For counters it is beatable, but for noncounters, this game is awful. Why would anyone that doesn't count play this? Is the 1000:1 that appealing? Why not go slots or something?

PS: Eh mebe this should be in the General Forum. Whatever.

Same reason people play match the dealer or the 3 card poker side game or the 777 side game. You see someone hit it and get a big pay out so you think oooo thats an easy game with a big payout maybe i can win toooo!!!!! Then of course you go ahead and drop a few hundred on it hahaha. I love watching people play the side bets. I have found lucky ladies to be profitable to me in a high count though.

Where do I find the WoO analysis (search results yielded none)?

Best regards,

There is more analysis in Exhibit CAA and he gives the TC to make it a profitable bet if you are counting.

Even with counting you will need deep penetration and very high TC (hi-lo) i think higher than 8, which is not very common.

You need a TC of roughly 5, not 8. It depends on the paytable, and if you have been keeping track of QoHs.

Last trip to vegas I made a Killing on this sidebet. At one house I hit a few of the tiers 7 times in two shoes, I hit the sidebet over 50% of the time I played it.

at one house, where spreading is almost impossible at my level, i made several units in less than 2 hours.

10% of my winning on my last trip came from this sidebet.

YMMV.

Whats the equivalent Zen count? say 9? Why not just go off of the number of QoH's per deck instead of using counting?

Nearly all the tables by me are lucky ladies, very few BJ tables that aren't. The rules don't change, so those are the tables I usually play at. I am always amazed at the people that keep cashing in chips to get $1 chips to play the Ladies side bet. They'll put out $1 and then get super excited when they hit the 4to1 payout on it. I've never seen anyone hit something big, or play it well like they were counting.

I've got the matched QH more than once, never against a dealer blackjack, and everyone at the table who's been playing the sidebet always freaks out at me for being so stupid and not betting it.

If you can only bet $1 on it then its worthless. If you were able to bet say $25 or $50 then it would be worth playing. Next time you play, try to side count QoH's and see whenever the QoH count per deck is above 1 or 1.5, see how often you actually get it. Post the results.

I have thought about practicing just a QofH sidecount at home, to prep for something like that. I don't have any experience with sidecounts, but with so many near me I have thought about trying to get that down.

You can bet quite a bit on the LL sidebet, I don't remember the limit, it's less than the table limit, but I've seen people bet green on it many times. I never understand why people on bet the $1, must be for fun. I've put red on it the few times I've seen the count go really high. I think I hit one at 4to1, not much and never anything big like something suited or pairs.

I'll give it to the casinos, it's a great sidebet, people eat it up by me. I've actually seen people standing behind a full LL table harassing people who are sitting and not playing the LL sidebet. They think they should be at another table, and let people who will play the sidebet sit down. It's ridiculous.

In that case, it would be profitable. Remember though that the ploppies may get those queens too. But you only have to be right 1 out of 4 bets to break even. Maybe if you calculated the chance of hitting it with different QoH counts and finding out at which point, mathematically, would it be profitable to bet it 1.5 QoH's per deck? 2 QoH's per deck? Whatever it may be, but certainly there will be a point at which it is profitable to play. You may also want to play with very few other people at the table to increase your chance of getting it. Maybe take some calculations (shouldn't take THAT many), but I imagine it could be very profitable just betting green.

The 10/4 paytable on a DD game is pretty good. That's a time when it makes sense to look for the QH. If either QH in a DD game is dealt out raise your strike point by 1 or 2 TC's.

Otherwise, even the 9/4 paytable used in AC makes the H17 games at HET properties a little better.

I thought ZG said it was TC +7 for Hi-Lo 6d?
I could be mistaken, but with KO i was always playing it around RC=6 which equals a HiLo TC of ~5.

For UBZ I play it around the same HiLo TC equivalent of 5. maybe i'm playing it a little early, though computing a HiLo TC from a UBZ RC isn't exact depending on current depth.

We have a of of the 21+3 around my area...every time my cards hit it and I don't bet everybody at the table starts pointing and shaking their heads. What really pisses me off is when the dealer constantly points out that I would've hit it, which gets the other players riled up....frustrating...
