How can a guy from Miami, where the temperature never goes below 60 degree, be a hockey expert? Growing up in central florida and being a big sports fan myself, I had trouble relating to and getting excited about hockey.
KJ:

Growing up when there were only 3 channels on tv (antenna only), black & white only, for some strange reason I watched a lot of Flyers hockey in South Florida and have always been amazed at both the speed of the game and the talent of the players. I've always been a big sports fanatic but never had anyone to talk hockey with so I was in my own little world until as luck would have it, we got an NHL franchise in 1993 and that was a big treat for me. I've never played but did learn to skate pretty well and I have the utmost appretiation for what those guys can do on the ice.

I, like you, enjoy getting out and physically experiencing places. I walk all over the place but always watch my back (and carry a weapon).

Exactly my point, HockeXpert. Crime happens everywhere. :( You could lock yourself in on the high floor of a secure highrise (and they still have crime as well) and have your limo driver drive you to the door of the casino and still, as you mentioned, get robbed in the casino. :( The fact is, except for Indian Casinos which are often built out in the middle of nowhere, many casinos are built in bad areas. I am not sure if that was because the land was intially cheaper in those areas or whether crime gravitates towards the casinos. Probably both. I have heard that AC was bad, long before casinos. But at any rate, if you choose to make a living or supplement your living this way, you are going to have to deal with it. I am not reckless believe me. I try to be alert to my surrounding at all times and take precautions to protect myself and property. But I choose to live and experience life, as well. I am not going to be afraid of my shadow or a prisoner in my own home...
Me neither. But what's the matter with the jitney going between the marina district and the Boardwalk? $2.25 in, $10-$20 EV (in saved travel time) back plus a greatly reduced chance of being robbed or hit by a car. Penny wise and pound foolish to walk, and even when I have a car in AC I'll often take the jitney because the time I don't spend screwing around in the parking lot is table time. Same for LV, they have more than adequate public transportation for getting around town.

In LV you take a bus or what?
There's the monorail and the deuce bus in Vegas. Sometimes the deuce bus is slower than walking.

But in AC the Jitney is always faster than walking.

If you're a Harrah's Platinum or Diamond or are staying at a Harrah's property, the Total Rewards shuttle is free to get between the Harrah's properties in AC.

Nothing is wrong with the Jitney. I use them all the time. Harrah and Trump Shuttles are even better (free)

The ace bus or gold line (new this year) runs up and down the strip and is faster and less crowded than the deuce bus. It makes fewer stops and tickets are purchased on the platform before boarding, which speed things up.

That's like saying that losing occurs everywhere, sometimes in plus counts and sometimes in negative counts, so who cares where you bet you make max bet.

All anyone is saying is that there are areas analogous to plus counts and there are areas analogous to negative counts, and the prudent counter, er...I mean, traveler, should try to wong out of negative areas whenever possible, not to say that they will never have trouble in positive areas.

Oh that's right. I was last in Vegas in March before my trip this September, and the Ace bus didn't exist in March. I didn't use it on my trip this September. I should have in hindsight since it took about an hour each way to get from my hotel, the Flamingo, to the good games downtown. Considering the lost EV, I should have taken a cab back and forth.
