Does playing perfect BS draw attention

So this weekend I was playing and at least 10 times I came accross wierd situations. One that was real bad was when I doubled A8 against a 6 and the dealer was like you have 19 why are you going to double down? How do you answer this, you cant be like cause BS tells me to. I just said yea I wanna double and the dealer gave me this look. 2 hands later I double my A7 vs a 3 and she again tells me I have 18 why am I going to double. I later stand my 77 vs 10 and the dealer asks why I didnt hit my 14. I left after that question.

So I venture off to another part of town and go to play. their is 2 guys at the table. 2nd hand in I get A7 and double against a 5. The guy next to me says why are you doubling down and he loud about it??? I was like because im allowed to . The dealer looks at me with a look just like the other . Im calling this look the ok buddy so you know more than most look. Later the count is like +2 and I have 16 v 10 so I stand, The dealer tells me I should hit 16 against a T. Im like really lol . Later I get 99 vs 7 and I stand. The guy next to me goes you should split that . I look at him and pretty much tell him to play his own game. The dealer at this point probly understands I know perfect BS. And im up so I just bounce.


Do you think all dealers know perfect BS ? and can spot someone making all the right moves?

I can understand if someone Surrenders thier 77 vs T. As that would only be known to perfect BS players. So that can be a little give away.

i do not think dealers know bs they just know basic stuff and know common moves from players.

if your questioned about doubleing a soft hand just say because the dealer has a bust card!!!

bring a bs card and whip it out when ever you get questioned!!!!!

i love when i see someone playing bs with $10 hands and then has $5 on the lucky lady bet every time, they should really but "no side bets" on those cards.

For those questioning your double downs, just smile and tell them the truth, "Because I'll win more money this way!" If you can manage to look slightly deranged while doing this, so much the better.

There's nothing wrong with perfect BS. And no casino I know of, except for what I've heard of the old Barbary Coast, would boot a player for playing BS.

And if you're not counting, and therefore don't care about attracting attention, then it's probably time for a good defusing response like "If I wanted your opinion, I'd beat it out of you.".

Oh, dear God not by any means.

However, I think a decent number of dealers at least have a pretty good idea about card counting. In other words, if a dealer DOES know perfect BS, there is a correlated chance that they either know, or just be familiar with, counting.

Like, for instance, just recently, in a doubledeck game, on the first round off the shuffle, four low cards come out with no high ones. I get a 12 v 3. I look at my hand, say "eurgh," and stand. And the dealer says "yeah, with that layout, I'd probably stand too."

All of these explanations sound too smart! Sound like a ploppy! "I have a feeling, dammit, so I'm gonna double my 19"! I have the same feeling about my 16, and when I put my max bet out. Taking a swig of your beer right after explaining this tends to reinforce the idea that you're a dumbass.

The above is a term I heard on a radio station. It generally means how much are you aware of what is going on around you and how well you handle situations. It's probably somewhat genetic and can be gained through experience. It would definately have relevance to a card counter. When you are faced with questions from dealers, pit, players. How well do you handle it?

Regarding the original post:
An easy way to handle situations like this is to stike first. An example, Before some "weird" double or split state to the table. "Time to try to get my money back". No one should question why you are doubling and you have advertised that you are losing.

The worst playing perfect BS does, in my experience, is get the Ploppy's angry with you. Very few dealers know how to play properly. I meet players who say they used to deal and they play the side bet and stand on soft 18 always, not just vs 7 and 8. If they knew better they wouldn't play like that.

The worst is when you play properly and the dealer is hot. Everytime you hit or double soft 18 the Dealer gets a 20, 21 or BJ. Boy that can be rough...

Just play properly despite the reactions you get.

Well i wouldnt play any other way. Im just trying to see how other people react to this kinda stuff. Id love to just say " Cuz im a counter and play perfect BS and I plan on walking away with your money "


To be honest most dealers could care less if you spread your bet or double on soft hands. Most of them are unhappy with their job. But at the moment Im just a red chipper so spreading to max 30$( spread 1-6 ) maybe once I might of threw up a red flag.

I played perfect BS on several occasions before learning to count, but that was because I learned it doing casino bonuses.

Counters don't necessarily play perfect basic strategy. On highly negative counts, for example, I hit 14 against a 2 or 3.

if your hitting 14 against a 2 or 3, you should have wonged out long before this point. HI LO Index for 14 v. 2 is TC = -4 and 14 v. 3 is TC = -5.
