Some pop-ups are friendly. Its when you start getting rogue programs on the start-up(Adware) pretending they're there to help you is when you should be concerned. At this point, with this type of infection, its just best to re-format.rukus said:not as evil as unwated pop-ups :flame:

I assume your referring to the original poster.Licentia said:It's probably spyware on your computer.
I remember when I did tech support and customers would call and blame the website saying when they visited they got pop-ups of porn or whatever. Hewlett Packard's website gives porn pop-ups apparently. No, it's that they have garbage on their pc!
It's amazing how people can put the blame in the wrong place, despite how illogical it may be for them to do so. Always so quick to blame others and justify themselves. The nature of man!
Licentia.
I am refering to him that he probably has spyware and adware programs running on his PC. The rest is refered to people that I helped doing tech support.jack said:I assume your referring to the original poster.
Pop-ups arent necessarily a critical system breach. When smoke starts coming out the back of your computer, followed by talking to you in a foriegn language, is when you realize its, actually penetrated and over-written your hard-drive and caused irreversible system component damage. Combo-fix,Smit-frad-fix,house-call,& Hijack-this are powerful anti-trojan tools. But as hackers, become more proficient, by todays technology. What worked Today, will not work tommorow.
The best tool, is being subjective to change.:cat:
