when you start counting consider sitting 1st base, if you are sitting 3rd base a right handed dealer can shield other players hole cards from your view in a pitch game at the other end of the table even if unintentional.
I don't believe in superstition... unless it's working for youpamelarose said:It seemes to me first base has always been a good seat for me.
Screw that. You play YOUR game and don't worry about other players, especially if you are playing solid basic strategy. I always keep my BS card handy and if somone gives me grief about my play, espescially if I am playing third, I just flip the card over to them and show then that my play is 100% accurate, unlike their own.pamelarose said:I try very hard to play staratgy, most of the time, and try to be careful not to "MESS UP THE CARDS" for others at the table.

Trying to think of some highly intelligent comeback to SkyBoy, but at this point, I'm just too sleepy.SkyBoy said:seat is main factor to me. All the time, i sit at last base and play on 2 boxes (last and the one before). that give me the ability to control the table and make the table win.
KenSmith...Don't you want the Dealer to BUST and make the table win. Sometimes I stand on 7,8,9,10 in order to let the dealer bust while I can double my bet.KenSmith said:SkyBoy, there's plenty of explanation around here about why controlling the table from third base is all in your head. It just doesn't work that way.
I acknowledge your post only to say that this has been discussed before on the form (as has extensive discussion of the Martingale Negative Progression). To continue discussion in this thread would only be redundant. Ken pretty much summed up the conclusions of the other discussions so elaborations are unnecessary.SkyBoy said:KenSmith...Don't you want the Dealer to BUST and make the table win. Sometimes I hit while I had hard 17 or 18 and BUST to prevent the dealer from getting 20.
I did it and got a lot to the table
Mikeaber...I am not in a mood for fighting to prove ideas. It is an opinion, if you like it or would you like to elaborate, you are welcome; otherwise, sleep is good idea!!!

I will say this much though....in order for you to "control the table" from third (or last) base or from the last two positions at the table (or any other position for that matter) you would have to KNOW what the next card is going to be in order to make any intelligent decision as to whether to take a hit or stand. You would have to know what the next TWO cards in the deck are if you decided to hit in order to make the dealer bust. Either scenario is impossible unless you are physic or have x-ray vision or something similar!
First off, in just about any forum you visit, it is just common curtesy to look over previous discussions so that you avoid beating a dead horse. But, that's assuming a lot on my part....maybe we do not state that on this forum for new members. We'll set that aside and address this seating position a little more in detail.SkyBoy said:Mike... This topic is about where to sit, my answer was to sit at last and I provide my reasons for that. If my reasons were discussed before, it is not my problem.
Also, I am not physics or having x-ray machine to see behind walls. It is not a mystery; you are playing and noticing all the drawn cards. The remaining is to realize and GUESS!!! Maybe you will be wrong but if you are good you will be wrong not more than 3 times out of 10. Your score for sure would be 7 out of 10.
I hope I clear things out. Thanks Mike..
