    Most bizarre play I've seen

I was just playing at the Aria. About midnight. $50 table. A guy buys in for 1K. First hand: he gets a soft 13. Stays. Second: he gets a soft 15. Stays. Third: Eleven. Stays. Fourth: Hard five. Doubles. Fifth: Nine. Stays. Sixth: Hard 17. Hits. With each of these plays, the dealer...

    Best Shows in Vegas?

This is just my own personal opinion, of course, but here is how I'd rate some of the shows I've seen recently: (YMMV) MYSTERE 5 PEEPSHOW 3.5 KA 4 THE LION KING 4 SINATRA DANCE WITH ME 3.5 JERSEY BOYS 4.5 BLUE MAN GROUP 4.5 O 4 LE REVE...

Milan, You keep wanting "opinions" on how to play hands. Most of the people here, whether APs or BSers do not rely on opinions, they rely on math. If you want to play hands based on how you feel, or what someone's "opinion" is, that's fine. I hope you have fun, and I know the casinos love to...

Lucky Ned's approach to "basic strategy"

Kudos to all the folks at Big Empire for a great site (especially Amy the Puppy.)

NewB here, can you be ban from the casino for winning to much?

Remember Dirty Harry? I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got...

    50% increase each win

Okay, I'm willing to bet all my clothes. But what do I do then if I have to split a pair?

    Hard Rock Albuquerque

Warrior, thanks for the info. It sounds like it's at least worth giving a look. Sucker, I'd be interested in knowing what level you have to play to get away from CSMs, if any of the games have LS and RSA, any restrictions on doubling, pen on six decks, and how much action they'd like to comp...

    50% increase each win

My progression CAN'T lose! It's simple. I double my bet every time I'm going to win the next hand, and I pull back to the minimum every time I'm going to lose the next hand. (I'm still working a couple of bugs out. I'll keep you posted.)

The casinos have nothing to worry about

I think it's prudent to just surrender ALL my hands. This accomplishes two things: a) I get to the buffet line quicker; b) I get lots of room comps.

    Hard Rock Albuquerque

Anyone have a report on Hard Rock in Albuquerque? I know in Vegas they only have decent rules once you hit the $100 tables.

    Another Expert heard from

I recently stumbled across a site by a guy named—evidently—Anand Natrajan (http://www.anandnatrajan.com). I found it pretty amusing. Some excerpts: A Blackjack Strategy Guide for Logicians This page is an attempt at explaining how to win at Blackjack, a popular casino game. I have played...

how to pretend you are not a counter ?

    1. Whenever the dealer busts, say, “Wow, all us ploppies sure did good on that one.” 2. Split 5s and double down on the split, regardless of the hand. 3. Ask the waitress for a 7-Up with an olive. 4. When the dealer says “you’ve got 6 or 16,” ask her if you have to tell her which one...

    S17 vs H17 ?

Alright, I've read everything very carefully, and I think it boils down to this: Always hit a soft 17. Only hit a hard 17 if the count's really low and you've got a gun. Or maybe I misread something.

Am I the only one who gets mad

I was just in Vegas and a player asked the dealer if she should split her 9s against a 5. The dealer said that you should never split 9s, since 18 is a winning hand.

    Blackjack question.?

Sucker, Maybe I wasn't clear. It's a good rule if you're allowed to re-split aces. (Right?) It's not a good rule if you're not allowed to re-split aces, because getting stuck with a twelve that you can't do anything about is not good. We agree on that don't we?
