I know basic strategy is to hit a 12 vs. a 2 or 3. But does this apply only to a two card twelve or does it apply to a multi-card 12 also? Assuming multi-decks, just using basic strategy and no counting.

I'm aware basic strategy is to hit a 12 vs. a 2 or 3. But does that also pertain to a three or four card 12? e.g. if I have 2,3,7 vs. dealer 2 or 3 do I still hit or stand because more small cards are out? Would the strategy change depending on the number of decks?

In a shoe game, what is the correct stragety for a sixteen consisting of three or more cards vs. a dealer 7,8,9,10,A? Is there a chart for this?

I have mastered the different basic strategies depending on number of decks, S17 or H17, DAS etc. But if I want to teach someone just one basic strategy, which one would be the best no matter which game was being played? I understand we'll be giving up some edge but which "universal" strategy...
