Only playing with friends who put all of their trust in the math is crucial...it also seems to be a big help in avoiding gambling addiction. (the latter is of course personal opinion).
I'm curious how you decided to use UBZII despite having no apparent knowledge of counting...and again I feel a hollow feeling inside me as I would suggest the same two books as the above poster.
If they only have 1 $5 table it's probably always going to be crowded, so i suggest going next time and just backcounting it...don't even bring money...and watch 2-3 of the hands to see if u can quickly decide what to do, to see if you can recognize your indice plays.

Well in arnold snyder's book, he suggests not using your current bankroll to determine betting but instead your replenishable bankroll. However, betting 4% of your bankroll when you have a 2% advantage will greatly increase your ror...you should familiarize yourself with gambler's risk of ruin...
Anyone have suggestions for other games/hobbies like blackjack or poker that are played for money? (doesn't have to do with cards) I couldn't get much past backgammon and chess...
