double deck or 6 deck

#1
Hey everyone!

In the casino Im currently playing at, they have a 2 deck game with approx 45% pen. Across from it they have a 6 deck game (same rules) with close to 95% pen..

With my smaller bankroll I really only wong in when the count is high to avoid more risk..

I guess my question could be dumb (still new) but which one can I maximize my EV at and why? make it mathy for me

Really appreciate your help.

If you're looking for math and maximizing ev, the double deck is almost surely the better play.

If you're looking at actually making money there, you probably want to avoid spreading on double deck at all, most places will be watching double deck much much more than six deck.

I'm sure you can't be right about the 95%, but, even with 90%, the 6-deck game is vastly superior to the DD with only 45% pen. Not even close.

Hey Don!

I know 95 seems crazy. However the dealer I specifically go to play with lets me pretty much choose the pen within reason. I cant just ask for a card to get cut off, but pretty much haha so I push it right to the back.

With the 2 deck game the discard tray has a pre-set mark where the dealer cuts so it comes out the same every time.

By the way I have been on the hunt for your book if this is who I think it is!!! And if it is.. Holy moly... Is there a preferred place I should buy it? In other words. Do you make more money if I buy it from a certain platform?

Don't worry about the royalty; it's a non-issue, but kind of you to ask. The cheapest way for YOU to buy it is here:

Usually with six deck after you put the cut card in, the dealer completes the cut and then puts another cut card in after. It is the second cut card that determines the penetration, not the one you place.

The best way to compare competing counting opportunities is through the use of a blackjack simulator, such as CVCX. The answers can be nonintuitive.

A 6 deck game with 95% penetration would mean only 15 cards, roughly 1/4 of a deck, was cut off.

95% pen on a 6 decker is approximately just 16 cards behind the cut card. You certain of this?[/QUOTE
