Калькулятор відеопокеру

Most video poker losses come down to two things: playing the wrong paytable and holding the wrong cards. This calculator handles the second problem. Enter your dealt hand, select your game, and it works out the mathematically optimal hold based on exact expected value across every possible draw from the remaining deck.

Fourteen game variants are supported, each with real-world paytable schedules. The return percentages shown are theoretical figures calculated against perfect play. And as always, feedback is welcome and appreciated below!

Як користуватися калькулятором

  1. Select your game from the dropdown at the top of the paytable section.
  2. Choose a paytable variant. The theoretical return percentage is shown next to each option so you know what you’re playing before you calculate.
  3. Enter your five dealt cards using the hand builder. Click each card slot to pick a rank and suit.
  4. Press Calculate. The calculator checks all 32 possible hold combinations and ranks them by expected value.
  5. The optimal hold is highlighted at the top. All 32 holds are shown in order so you can compare alternatives.

Playing max coins? Toggle the 5-coin mode switch next to the paytable selector. The Royal Flush payout updates to 800-for-1, which is the standard max-coin bonus on virtually every video poker machine. This changes the expected value on any hand with a Royal Flush draw, so make sure it matches how you’re actually playing.

Standard Games

These four games share the same core hand ranking structure. No wild cards, no rank-specific quad bonuses. The differences between them are in the minimum qualifying pair and how payouts are weighted across hand categories.

Валет або краще

The starting point for most video poker players. You need at least a pair of Jacks to get anything back. The 9/6 full-pay schedule returns 99.54% and is the most widely studied game in video poker. Strategy is consistent and well-documented, which makes it the best game to learn on before moving to the more complex variants.

All American Poker

Pays 8-for-1 equally on Full House, Flush, and Straight — making flushes and straights far more valuable than in Jacks or Better. Straight Flush pays 200-for-1. The full-pay version returns 100.72%, one of four player-edge games in this calculator. Strategy shifts considerably: flush and straight draws carry more weight, which changes borderline hold decisions throughout.

Bonus Poker Deluxe

All Four of a Kind hands pay 80-for-1 regardless of rank. Unlike Bonus Poker and its variants, there is no split by Aces, low cards, or high cards — every quad is worth the same. Two Pair drops to 1-for-1 to fund the flat quad payout. Full-pay 8/6 returns 99.64%. Strategy is simpler than the rank-split bonus games since you’re not chasing specific quad ranks.

Tens or Better

A pair of Tens qualifies for the minimum payout instead of Jacks. To compensate, the Full House and Flush pay less, settling at 99.14% on the full-pay 6/5 schedule. Strategy is close to Jacks or Better but not identical, particularly on borderline Ten pair hands where holding the pair versus drawing is a genuine decision.

Bonus Variants

This group all share the same minimum qualifying pair (Jacks or Better) but offer elevated payouts on Four of a Kind depending on the rank of the quad. Two Pair typically pays 1-for-1 rather than 2 across this group, which is the tradeoff for the higher quad payouts. Variance increases significantly as you move down this list.

Бонусний покер

Jacks or Better with differentiated Four of a Kind payouts. Four Aces pays 80-for-1, Four 2s through 4s pays 40-for-1, and Four 5s through Kings pays 25-for-1. The 8/5 full-pay version returns 99.17%. Low cards carry more strategic value here than in standard Jacks or Better because of the elevated payouts on small rank quads.

Подвійний бонусний покер

Raises the rank-specific quad payouts well above Bonus Poker. Four Aces pays 160-for-1, Four 2s through 4s pays 80-for-1, Four 5s through Kings pays 50-for-1. Two Pair drops to 1-for-1 to fund these. Full-pay 10/7 returns 100.17%, one of the few genuine player-edge games you can find in a casino. Moderately high variance with a strong long-run return at the right paytable.

Super Double Bonus Poker

Takes the bonus quad structure to an extreme. Four Aces pays 800-for-1 and Four 2s through 4s pays 400-for-1 — effectively jackpot-sized payouts relative to a standard bet. The 9/6 version returns 99.69%. Bankroll swings are significant given how much of the return depends on hitting the top quad ranks.

Double Double Bonus Poker

The highest-variance game in widespread circulation. Quad Aces with a 2, 3, or 4 kicker pays 400-for-1. Quad 2s through 4s with a low kicker pays 160-for-1. To fund those payouts, Two Pair is cut to 1-for-1. Swings are large and a substantial bankroll is needed to weather bad runs. The 9/6 version returns 98.98%.

Triple Double Bonus Poker

The kicker structure of Double Double Bonus with higher payouts at every level. Four Aces with a low kicker pays 800-for-1, Four 2s through 4s with a low kicker pays 400-for-1. Three of a Kind pays only 2-for-1 instead of 3 to fund the top payouts. The 9/6 version returns 98.15%. Variance is extreme — this is not a game for modest bankrolls.

Super Double Double Bonus

Combines the kicker structure of Double Double Bonus with elevated payouts on all quad ranks. Four Aces with a kicker pays 800-for-1, Four 2s through 4s with a kicker pays 400-for-1, and the base quad payouts are higher than standard Double Double Bonus throughout. One of the more recent additions to the bonus game family, with correspondingly extreme variance.

Aces & Eights

Introduces bonus payouts on two additional quad ranks beyond Aces. Four Eights pays 80-for-1 alongside Four Aces at 80-for-1. Four Sevens pays 50-for-1. All other quads pay 25-for-1. Unlike most bonus variants, Two Pair stays at 2-for-1, which keeps the lower end of the paytable intact. Full-pay 8/5 returns 99.78%.

Deuces Wild

All four 2s act as wild cards. Three of a Kind is the minimum paying hand, while pairs and Two Pair pay nothing. The hand hierarchy shifts completely from a standard game. Full-pay Deuces Wild returns 100.76%, the highest return of any game in this calculator. It is nearly impossible to find at those payouts in a modern casino. The Not So Ugly (NSU) schedule at 99.73% is the most realistic alternative.

Loose Deuces Wild

The same wild card structure as Deuces Wild but with a substantially higher payout on Four Deuces — 500-for-1 versus 200-for-1 in standard Deuces Wild. Other pays across the schedule are adjusted down to compensate. Very rare in casinos. The defining feature is how dramatically it rewards the four-deuce hand compared to any other Deuces variant.

Joker Poker (Kings or Better)

Played on a 53-card deck with one fully wild Joker. Kings or better is the minimum paying hand. A natural Royal Flush made without the Joker pays more than a Wild Royal. The full-pay schedule returns 100.65%, another theoretical player-edge game and similarly rare on a casino floor. The 7/5 schedule at 98.44% is what you’re more likely to find.

Understanding Paytable Variants

The same game title can appear on machines with several different paytable schedules. In Jacks or Better, the paytable name refers to the Full House and Flush payouts. A 9/6 machine pays 9-for-1 on a Full House and 6-for-1 on a Flush. A 6/5 machine pays 6-for-1 and 5-for-1. That single difference knocks 4.5 percentage points off the return, which on a $1 machine running 600 hands per hour works out to roughly $27 per hour in additional expected losses.

Paytable Full House Змив. Return (Optimal Play) Край будинку
9/6 (Full Pay) 9 6 99.54% 0.46%
9/5 9 5 98.45% 1.55%
8/5 8 5 97.30% 2.70%
7/5 7 5 96.15% 3.85%
6/5 6 5 95.00% 5.00%

Check the paytable before you sit down. Every variant says “Jacks or Better” on the cabinet. The only way to know which schedule you’re playing is to look at the Full House and Flush payouts on screen. A 9/6 machine and a 6/5 machine are indistinguishable from the outside.

Hands Where Intuition Gets It Wrong

The most useful thing a calculator does is catch the situations where the obvious hold is not the optimal one. These come up more often than most players expect, and the EV difference can be significant. The game matters too — the right hold in Jacks or Better is not always the right hold in All American or Deuces Wild.

Dealt Hand Гра What Most Players Hold Optimal Hold Why
A♥ K♥ Q♥ J♥ 9♥ Jacks or Better (9/6) All five — it’s a Flush A♥ K♥ Q♥ J♥ Four to a Royal Flush has a higher EV than a made Flush. Drawing one card for a chance at 800-for-1 (5-coin) pulls the average up enough to outweigh a guaranteed 6-for-1.
A♠ K♠ Q♠ J♠ A♥ Jacks or Better (9/6) A♠ A♥ — Pair of Aces pays now A♠ K♠ Q♠ J♠ Four to a Royal beats a high pair in full-pay Jacks or Better. The pair looks like the safe choice, but the Royal draw has nearly five times the expected value.
J♥ 10♥ 9♥ 8♥ J♣ Jacks or Better (9/6) J♥ J♣ — already a paying pair J♥ 10♥ 9♥ 8♥ Four to a Straight Flush has higher EV than a paying pair at full-pay Jacks or Better. The Straight Flush and Straight outs together push the average above holding the pair.
J♥ 10♥ 9♥ 8♥ J♣ All American J♥ J♣ — already a paying pair J♥ 10♥ 9♥ 8♥ In All American, Straight Flush pays 200-for-1 and both Flush and Straight pay 8-for-1. The four to a Straight Flush draw is dramatically stronger than in Jacks or Better, and the gap over holding the pair is much wider.
7♠ 7♥ 7♦ K♣ 5♠ Any JoB variant 7♠ 7♥ 7♦ K♣ — keep the high kicker 7♠ 7♥ 7♦ only Drawing two gives a better average outcome than drawing one. The King adds nothing to your EV and reduces the chance of hitting a Full House or Quads by narrowing the draw.
A♥ A♠ A♦ A♣ 3♥ Double Double Bonus A♥ A♠ A♦ A♣ — discard the 3 All five cards The 3♥ is a qualifying kicker. Quad Aces with a 2, 3, or 4 kicker pays 400-for-1 in Double Double Bonus, vs. 160-for-1 without. Never discard a low kicker from quad Aces in this game.
A♥ A♠ A♦ A♣ 3♥ Triple Double Bonus A♥ A♠ A♦ A♣ — discard the 3 All five cards The kicker matters even more here. Quad Aces with a low kicker pays 800-for-1 in Triple Double Bonus vs. 400-for-1 without. Discarding the 3 costs you 400 units.
2♦ 2♠ K♣ Q♥ J♠ Deuces Wild K♣ Q♥ J♠ — three to a Straight 2♦ 2♠ only Two wild cards outvalue three high naturals by a wide margin in Deuces Wild. Discard the King, Queen, and Jack entirely and draw three new cards.

What Return Percentages Actually Mean

A 99.54% return means that over millions of hands at optimal play, you would expect to get back $99.54 for every $100 wagered. The house retains the remaining $0.46. In the short run, variance is enormous. A session of a few hundred hands can go anywhere, and the Royal Flush, which drives a meaningful portion of the long-run return, might not land for tens of thousands of hands.

Two things determine the return you actually experience:

  • The paytable you play. A 9/6 machine and a 6/5 machine look identical from the outside. Always check the Full House and Flush payouts on screen before sitting down.
  • How close you are to optimal play. Return percentages are calculated against perfect strategy on every hand. Consistent suboptimal holds reduce your actual return below the theoretical figure. The gap per hand is usually small, but it compounds across a long session.

Four games in this calculator have theoretical returns above 100% at their best available paytables: All American (100.72%), Deuces Wild (100.76%), Double Bonus Poker (100.17%), and Joker Poker (100.65%). A return above 100% means the long-run mathematical edge favors the player at that paytable. In practice, this does not mean you reliably win money in a session — variance is high enough that individual sessions swing far from the mean in both directions. It also means casinos rarely spread these games at full pay for long.

ПОШИРЕНІ ЗАПИТАННЯ

Full pay refers to the highest-returning paytable version of a given game, as tracked by the video poker community. For Jacks or Better, that’s the 9/6
schedule. Other schedules pay less while using the same game name on the machine cabinet.

For each possible hold, the calculator enumerates every card combination that could be drawn from the remaining deck and averages the payout across all
outcomes. No approximation is used. For a hold-nothing draw from a standard 52-card deck, that’s 1,533,939 combinations evaluated per hold option.

The Royal Flush pays 250-for-1 at one coin and 800-for-1 at five coins. Any hand with a Royal Flush draw has a higher EV at max bet, which can shift
borderline decisions. A hand that is best played as a high pair at one coin may be better played as a Royal draw at five coins.

In Double Double Bonus, the fifth card alongside certain Four of a Kind hands affects the payout. Quad Aces with a 2, 3, or 4 kicker pays 400-for-1
instead of 160-for-1. Quad 2s through 4s with an Ace, 2, 3, or 4 kicker pays 160-for-1 instead of 80-for-1. The calculator always accounts for kicker value when
evaluating those hands.
