Mega Ball is the simplest draw game here: buy cards, watch 20 balls come out, then wait for the Mega Ball. Most of its value sits in that final ball, so expect long quiet stretches between real wins.

Alto. Most rounds a card wins nothing or just its stake back; the big results need several lines or a Mega Ball multiplier, and both are rare.

¿Cómo? Mega Ball obras

Mega Ball is a live ball draw played with bingo style cards. Twenty balls are drawn, your cards mark themselves, and a final Mega Ball can multiply a winning card by up to 100x.

1

Buy your cards

During the betting countdown, choose a card value and how many cards to play. Each card has 24 random numbers around a free center square.

2

Watch 20 balls

Twenty of 51 balls are drawn and your numbers mark themselves. A full row, column or diagonal is a line.

3

Then the Mega Ball

One or two Mega Balls come next, each with a 5x to 100x multiplier. If one completes a line on your card, that card is multiplied.

An example round

Say you play one $1 card.

  • No line: the card loses. This happens on most rounds.
  • One line: you get your $1 back.
  • Two lines: the card pays 5 times your stake, $5.
  • The Mega Ball finishes a line with a 5x multiplier: that card’s payout is multiplied by 5, so a single line pays $5 instead of $1.

Good to know

A single line only gives your stake back unless the Mega Ball multiplies it. And every extra card costs its full price, so more cards means a bigger bill each round.

The math behind Mega Ball

Each card has 24 numbers around a free center square. 20 of 51 balls are drawn, then one or two Mega Balls carry a 5x to 100x multiplier. The game's rules give the counts and payouts; the chances below are worked out exactly from them for one card and the 20 main balls.

A line is any row, column or diagonal of five. Each of your numbers has a 39.22% chance of being drawn, and a card can complete up to 9 lines.

How many lines one card completes

2 0.67% 149 rounds 5x your stake 500x
3 0.02% 4,255 rounds 50x your stake 5,000x
4 under 0.01% 168,827 rounds 250x your stake 25,000x
5 under 0.01% 8,151,988 rounds 1,000x your stake 100,000x
6 or moreunder 0.01%10,000x your stake1,000,000x

Payouts include your stake. A Mega Ball only multiplies a card when its number completes a line there, and with two Mega Balls on one card only the higher multiplier counts.

Where the return comes from

Most rounds a card completes nothing: 87.68% of the time. It completes at least one line 12.32% of the time, but nearly all of those are a single line, which only gives your stake back. Two or more lines come about once every 144 rounds.

Add up the main draw on its own and a card pays back about 16.31% of its price. The published return is 95.40% for one card, with a range down to 95.05%. The difference comes from the Mega Ball round: a 5x to 100x multiplier on a card that the Mega Ball finishes. How often each multiplier appears is not published.

Is there a Mega Ball strategy?

Not one that beats the house edge. Lucky numbers, refreshed cards and extra cards all leave the price of a Mega Ball card where it is.

Refreshing your card changes nothing

All 51 balls are in the machine every round, so every number has the same 39.22% chance. Refreshing your card swaps one random set of numbers for another with exactly the same odds, and past draws tell you nothing about the next one.

Each card pays back less than it costs

The published figure for one card is 95.40%: about $95.40 back for every $100 spent over time. Its published range runs down to 95.05%, so the cost never falls below about 4.60%.

Ten cards, ten times the cost

Ten cards make a winning line far more likely each round, but you pay for all ten, and each one keeps the same edge. A single line on one of them still only gives that card's stake back.

What you can control

Your cost per round

There is only one kind of bet, so the price per card is fixed. What you choose is how many cards and how much each one costs.

Average cost per $100 of cards about $4.60 at the published one card figure.

How bumpy the ride is

Always swingy

A card completes a line on 12.32% of rounds, usually just one, which returns your stake. The real wins need two or more lines or a Mega Ball multiplier.

Smaller cards spread over more rounds make the same budget last longer; they do not improve the odds.

Mega Ball PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES

How many balls are drawn?

Twenty from 51, then one or two Mega Balls.

What happens if two Mega Balls help the same card?

Only the higher multiplier counts. The two do not multiply together.

What does one line pay?

On its own, your stake back. It only becomes a real win if the Mega Ball multiplies it.

Is 100x the biggest possible win?

No. 100x is the top Mega Ball multiplier. It multiplies the card payout, so several lines and a high multiplier together can pay far more.

What are the odds in Mega Ball?

Twenty of 51 balls are drawn, so each number on your card has a 39.22% chance. From those 20 balls, one card completes no line 87.68% of the time, one line 11.62% of the time and two lines about once in 149 rounds.

What is the RTP of Mega Ball?

The published return is 95.40% based on one card, with a range of 95.05% to 95.40%.

Does refreshing my card numbers help?

No. Every number is equally likely to be drawn, so a refreshed card has exactly the same chances as the one it replaces.
