Should you play it?

Casino Hold'em gives you one real decision per hand, and it matters: Evolution's 97.84% Ante return assumes you call or fold correctly every time. The two side bets cost far more. The AA Bonus returns 93.74% and the Jumbo 7 Jackpot 81.64%, so the cheapest way to play is the Ante alone.

Play it if

  • You like poker hands and want one decision per hand, not a whole betting round
  • You want the Ante's 97.84% return and are ready to make careful call or fold choices
  • You are fine with most wins paying even money and big hands being rare

Variance profile

Medium. Most Ante wins pay even money, but every call puts three times your Ante at risk, and the side bets pay mostly through rare hands.

Bets and payouts

The three bets

Evolution's stated return for each bet. The Ante figure covers the Call bets that follow it and assumes the best call or fold decision every hand.

Bet Pays RTP House edge
Ante (with Call) 1 to 1 up to 100 to 1 97.84% 2.16%
AA Bonus 7 to 1 up to 100 to 1 93.74% 6.26%
Jumbo 7 Jackpot Fixed prizes or a jackpot share 81.64% 18.36%

Dealer does not qualify Returned
Tie with a qualifying dealer Returned, Ante too
Qualifying dealer beats you Loses, Ante too

AA Bonus side bet

Judged on your two cards and the flop. Each chance is exact for those five cards.

Three of a Kind 7 to 1 2.11%
Two Pairs 7 to 1 4.75%
Pair of Aces 7 to 1 3.25%

Jumbo 7 Jackpot side bet

Judged on all seven cards: your two and the five community cards. The game's Jumbo 7 paytable shows the fixed prizes as amounts in your currency.

Bet When it wins Pays
7 Card Straight Flush Seven cards in sequence, same suit. About 1 in 4.18 million hands Share of the progressive jackpot
6 Card Straight Flush Six in sequence, same suit. About 1 in 84,000 hands 5000
5 Card Straight Flush Royal Flush included. About 1 in 3,348 hands 250
Four of a Kind About 1 in 595 hands 50
Full House About 1 in 39 hands 5
Flush About 1 in 33 hands 4
Straight About 1 in 22 hands 2

The Bonus and Jumbo 7 chances are exact counts over one shuffled 52 card deck. The Ante paytable has no chance column because whether it pays depends on the dealer's hand and on your decision to call.

Pays shows the odds on a winning bet, with your stake returned on top. Jumbo 7 fixed prizes are the amounts the game's paytable shows in your currency. RTP is the share of all money bet that comes back over a very long run; house edge is the rest. Neither predicts a single session.

How Casino Hold’em works

Casino Hold'em is Evolution's live version of Texas Hold'em played against the house. You and the dealer each get two cards and share five community cards, and your best five card hand has to beat the dealer's.

1 Ante

Place your Ante

Bet the Ante before betting time runs out. You can add the AA Bonus and the Jumbo 7 Jackpot side bets on top.

2 2 + 3 cards

See the flop

You get two cards face up, the dealer takes two face down, and three community cards land in the middle.

3 Call 2x or fold

Make your decision

Call with a bet of twice your Ante, or fold and lose the Ante. The turn and river follow, the dealer shows two cards, and the best hands are compared.

How a hand plays out

Everyone at the table shares the same five community cards and plays against the same dealer hand. One 52 card deck is used for each round and shuffled after it. Once the flop is out, you press Play 2x to call or Fold. Then the dealer deals the turn and the river and turns over two cards. You and the dealer each make the best five card hand from seven cards.

The dealer needs a pair of fours or better to qualify. That rule decides what happens to your Call bet:

  • Dealer qualifies, you win: the Ante pays by the paytable and the Call pays 1 to 1.
  • Dealer does not qualify: the Ante pays by the paytable and the Call is returned.
  • Dealer qualifies and beats you: the Ante and the Call both lose.
  • Tie with a qualifying dealer: the Ante and the Call are both returned.

An example with $ amounts

You bet a $10 Ante and call for $20, so $30 is in play. You finish with a flush and the dealer qualifies with two pairs: the Ante pays 2 to 1 ($20) and the Call pays 1 to 1 ($20), so you win $40. If the dealer had not qualified, you would win the $20 on the Ante and get the $20 Call back. Fold instead and you lose only the $10 Ante.

The side bets

The AA Bonus is judged on your two cards and the flop only. It pays on a pair of aces or better in those five cards, whatever happens in the main game. The Jumbo 7 Jackpot is judged on all seven cards: your two plus the five community cards. Fixed prizes start at a straight, and a seven card straight flush wins the progressive jackpot, shared by everyone who placed a Jumbo 7 bet in that round.

2 Hand Casino Hold’em

Evolution’s 2 Hand Casino Hold’em is the same game with the same Ante, Call and Bonus paytables and the same stated returns, played on one or two hands at once. Each hand has its own Ante, its own call or fold decision and its own optional Bonus, and each is compared with the one dealer hand separately. The Jumbo 7 Jackpot is not part of that version.

What to watch for

  • The decision timer: if time runs out before you choose, your hand is folded automatically and the Ante is lost.
  • Decision Statistics: the screen shows how the other players chose. It is a tally, not advice.
  • Side bet prices: the Bonus and Jumbo 7 both return less than the Ante, so each one you add raises your cost per hand.

The math behind Casino Hold’em

The Ante's return depends on your decisions, so Evolution states it for best play. The side bets need no decisions, and their chances can be counted exactly from one 52 card deck.

The Ante is the cheapest bet

With correct decisions the Ante returns 97.84%, a house edge of 2.16%. Every call that should have been a fold, or fold that should have been a call, can only lower the real return.

Big Ante payouts are rare

Your seven cards make a flush or better in 5.82% of hands. Those are the only hands where the Ante pays more than even money, and only if you called and won or the dealer did not qualify.

The AA Bonus wins about one hand in nine

A pair of aces or better shows in the first five cards 10.88% of the time. Nearly all of that, 10.51% of hands, is the 7 to 1 tier, which is why the bet returns 93.74%.

The jackpot hand is very rare

A seven card straight flush is 32 of the 133,784,560 possible seven card hands. Most of the Jumbo 7's 81.64% return comes from the smaller fixed prizes.

Is there a Casino Hold’em strategy?

Yes, one decision per hand: call or fold after the flop. Evolution's 97.84% Ante return assumes the optimal choice every time, so playing well matters here in a way it does not in a side bet.

Call or fold

Calling costs twice your Ante and keeps the hand alive for the turn, the river and the showdown. Folding gives up the Ante and nothing more.

Your choice does not touch the side bets

The AA Bonus and the Jumbo 7 are settled on the cards whether you call or fold, so they never change the right decision on the Ante.

Decision Statistics are not a guide

The on screen tally shows what other players chose this hand. It says nothing about which choice returns more.

What you can control

Your cost per hand

House edge, cheapest first. A shorter bar costs less.

  1. Ante (with Call)2.16%
  2. AA Bonus6.26%
  3. Jumbo 7 Jackpot18.36%

Your decision time

If the timer runs out before you choose, the hand is folded automatically and the Ante is lost. Decide before the clock does.

Your stake per hand

A call triples what you have on the main game. Size your Ante so that a $10 Ante and its $20 Call fit your budget, plus any side bets.

Casino Hold’em FAQ

Do I lose my Bonus bet if I fold?

No. The AA Bonus is settled on your first five cards whether you call or fold, and folding does not stop a Jumbo 7 win either. Folding only gives up the Ante.

Does a pair of kings win the AA Bonus?

No. The lowest winning Bonus hand is a pair of aces. A pair of kings or lower loses, and cards dealt on the turn and river do not count toward the Bonus.

Can I bet the Bonus or the Jumbo 7 without an Ante?

No. Both side bets open only after you have placed an Ante bet.

How are ties decided?

Suits never break a tie. Hands of the same rank are compared by their higher cards and kickers, and if the best five cards are still equal against a qualifying dealer, the Ante and the Call are returned.

How is the Jumbo 7 jackpot split?

Every player who placed a Jumbo 7 bet in the round where a seven card straight flush lands shares the jackpot, divided by the number of winners and adjusted for each player’s currency. The fixed prizes for a straight up to a six card straight flush are paid to you alone.

What happens if I disconnect before I decide?

Bets placed before betting closed stay valid and are settled without you. If the decision time runs out while you are away, the hand is folded automatically, and your side bets are still settled on the cards.
