Moyen. Your choice of bet sets the size and frequency of wins, as on any roulette table. The second green pocket makes every ordinary bet lose a little more often than on a single zero wheel.

Comment Roulette américaine œuvres

1 38 pockets

Place your bets

Bet on numbers 1 to 36, 0 or 00, or on groups such as dozens and red or black.

2 Croupier en direct

Watch the spin

A dealer spins the ball on a double zero wheel. Red, black, odd, even, high, low, dozens and columns all lose on 0 and 00.

3 35:1

Settle the spin

A straight up win pays 35:1, the same as a single zero table, even though there are 38 pockets. The Five Bet pays 6:1.

Two green pockets

Evolution’s American Roulette is a live dealer game on a double zero wheel: numbers 1 to 36, plus 0 and 00. That extra green pocket is the whole difference from European roulette. The payouts stay the same, so a straight up win still pays 35:1 even though there are now 38 pockets instead of 37.

The Five Bet

The table adds a Five Bet, placed on the outer line of the layout, that covers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 and pays 6:1. It looks convenient, but it is the most expensive bet on the table. Five winning pockets out of 38 at 6:1 works out at a 7.89% house edge, against 5.26% for every other bet.

What it costs

Ordinary bets return 94.74%, a 5.26% edge. That is close to double the 2.70% of a single zero table such as Immersive Roulette. This table has lower betting limits than Evolution’s other roulette tables, which can suit small stakes, but the lower limit does not lower the cost of each bet.

The math behind American Roulette

The wheel has 38 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 and two green pockets, 0 and 00. The game's rules list every bet and its payout, and what each bet pays back over time. Every figure below comes from those numbers.

Try it: place your bets

Tap a number for a straight up bet, a line between two numbers for a split, a corner for four numbers, or the edge next to the dozens for a street or six line. Add as many bets as you like.

The green pockets are not red, black, odd, even, high or low, so every outside bet loses when one lands. That is where the house edge comes from.

"A fair price" is the payout that would make a bet break even over time: the pockets it loses on for each pocket it wins on. Every payout here is below it.

    One zero or two

    Single zero, 37 pockets

One green pocket out of 37. $1 on red for 100 spins costs about $2.70 on average.

    Ce tableau

    Double zero, 38 pockets

    5.26% avantage de la maison

Two green pockets out of 38, almost double the cost: about $5.26 per 100 spins of $1 on red. The five number bet (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) costs even more, 7.89%.

Why the five number bet costs more

Every ordinary bet here returns 94.74%. The five number bet is the exception: it covers 5 pockets, so a fair price would be 6.6 to 1, but it pays 6 to 1 and costs 7.89%. It is the one bet on the table to avoid.

Is there a American Roulette strategy?

No. The second zero gives every ordinary bet a 5.26% edge and the Five Bet 7.89%. The one choice that lowers your cost is which bets you leave alone.

    Same five numbers, lower price

The Five Bet covers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 for 6 to 1. Five straight up bets on those numbers cover the same pockets at 5.26% each, instead of 7.89%.

    Find a single zero table

    Roulette américaine FAQ

What is the house edge on Evolution's American Roulette?

    Ordinary bets return 94.74%, a 5.26% edge. The Five Bet on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 pays 6:1, which works out at 7.89%.

    What is the Five Bet?

A single bet covering 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 that pays 6:1. It is the only bet with a higher edge than the rest, so it is the one to skip.

Does the extra zero increase the payouts?

No. A straight up win still pays 35:1, the same as on a single zero wheel, which is why the edge is higher.

Is American Roulette worse than European roulette?

On cost, yes. Ordinary bets cost 5.26% here against 2.70% on a single zero table. Choose it only if you want the double zero layout.

What are the odds in American Roulette?

With 38 pockets, each number has a 1 in 38 chance (2.63%) and red or black wins 47.37% of spins. Ordinary bets return 94.74%, a 5.26% house edge; the Five Bet works out at 7.89%.

Is there an American Roulette strategy that works?

No. Every ordinary bet returns 94.74%. The only saving on this table is to skip the Five Bet: straight up bets on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 cover the same numbers for less.
