A roulette game by Playtech
Playtech's football themed live roulette: a single zero wheel, the standard 35 to 1 paytable and a Goal Bet that pays 3x to 100x on five adjacent numbers.
Football Roulette is ordinary single zero roulette with football commentary and an optional Goal Bet. The layout bets return 97.30%; the Goal Bet's own return is not published, so treat it as an extra with an unknown price.
Moyen. Layout bets swing as on any single zero table. The Goal Bet wins on 5 of the 37 pockets, roughly one round in seven, with a 3x to 100x prize, so it swings more.
Bet on the layout as usual. To play the side bet, put a chip in the Goal Bet box before betting closes.
Once the round starts, one multiplier, 3x, 5x, 20x, 50x or 100x, and five numbers next to each other on the wheel are drawn. Football shirts mark the five numbers on the layout.
Layout bets pay as normal, 35 to 1 straight up down to 1 to 1. If the ball lands on a shirt number, Goal Bet stakes win at the multiplier.
Football Roulette began in 2018 as Football Weekend Roulette and was relaunched in September 2020 in Playtech’s sports themed Let’s Play studio. Alongside the roulette, the dealer gives live commentary on football matches, with a news feed and match statistics on a video wall. The game itself is single zero roulette with a live dealer and the standard paytable, from 35 to 1 on a single number down to 1 to 1 on red or black.
The Goal Bet has its own box on the layout. Each round the game draws one multiplier, 3x, 5x, 20x, 50x or 100x, and five numbers that sit next to each other on the wheel, marked with football shirts. If the ball lands on one of them, Goal Bet stakes are paid at that multiplier. Five pockets out of 37 is roughly a one in seven chance a round. Playtech’s rules do not publish the Goal Bet’s return or how often each multiplier appears.
Playtech’s lobby now lists the game as Football French Roulette. The rules on this page are those of Football Roulette, where even money and 2 to 1 bets lose in full on zero and the game returns 97.3%. A French name does not by itself mean La Partage, so check the help screen of the table you play for its zero rule.
The wheel has 37 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. The game's rules list every bet and its payout, and what each bet pays back over time. Every figure below comes from those numbers.
Tap a number for a straight up bet, a line between two numbers for a split, a corner for four numbers, or the edge next to the dozens for a street or six line. Add as many bets as you like.
The green pocket is not red, black, odd, even, high or low, so every outside bet loses when it lands. That is where the house edge comes from.
No chips yet. Place a chip on the layout and the math appears here.

Your chance, payout and cost per spin will show here. Over many spins these bets lose about a spin on average, of your stake, even though a single spin leaves you ahead of the time. These bets can never finish a spin ahead, only break even or lose, and over many spins they lose about a spin on average, of your stake. A winning straight up pays 35 to 1, which on its own gives back 97.30% of what you stake; the bonus games add more, but how much is not published, so the true cost of these bets is not known.

"A fair price" is the payout that would make a bet break even over time: the pockets it loses on for each pocket it wins on. Every payout here is below it.
2.70% avantage de la maison
One green pocket out of 37. $1 on red for 100 spins costs about $2.70 on average.
5.26% avantage de la maison
Two green pockets out of 38, almost double the cost: about $5.26 per 100 spins of $1 on red. The five number bet (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) costs even more, 7.89%.
The Goal Bet sits outside the layout bets. Each round one multiplier, 3x, 5x, 20x, 50x or 100x, and five adjacent wheel numbers are drawn, and a Goal Bet wins that multiplier if the ball lands on one of them, 5 pockets in 37. Its return is not published, so it is left out of the table above.
The rules at your casino may show different figures; its in game help is the version that applies to you.
No. The layout bets all return 97.30%, and the Goal Bet's return is not published, so no bet can be shown to be cheaper than the layout.
The Goal Bet wins on 5 of 37 pockets, roughly one round in seven. What it pays back depends on how often each multiplier is drawn, and that is not published.
The five numbers are picked at random each round. A shirt number has the same 1 in 37 chance as any other pocket.
On the layout the cost is known: 2.70%. A chip on the Goal Bet buys a 3x to 100x chance at an unknown price, so keep it small if you play it.
If you play Football French Roulette, read its help screen for the zero rule and its own return figures.
Play for fun, with money you can afford to lose. Set a time and money limit before you start and keep to it. If gambling stops being fun or you feel the urge to chase losses, take a break and get support: see our problem gambling help page.
A side bet on five adjacent numbers marked with football shirts each round. If the ball lands on one, it pays the round’s multiplier: 3x, 5x, 20x, 50x or 100x.
Playtech’s rules give 97.3% for the game, which matches every layout bet on a single zero wheel. The Goal Bet’s own return is not published.
Not that the rules show. In the Football Roulette rules, even money bets lose in full on zero. The table now carries a French name, so check its help screen for the zero rule before you count on half back.
