Should you play it?

A card race with simple bets: back a suit to win, a suit to finish last alone, or a flawless win. The Main Bet and Global Sprint return about 97.7% and 98.06%; the Donkey bet, about 87.5%, is the one to skip.

Play it if

  • You like watching a race unfold card by card
  • You want multipliers on your winning suit
  • You want a long shot paying 529 to 1

Variance profile

Medium. A Main Bet on one suit wins a share of races; Aurum Strike multipliers and the 529 to 1 Global Sprint add rare big results.

How Card Race works

1 4 Aces

Place your bets

Back a suit to win, add a Donkey bet on a suit to finish last, or a Global Sprint.

2 48 cards

The race

The dealer draws cards one by one; each card moves its suit one step up the track.

3 Step 5

The finish

The first Ace to reach step 5 wins the race, with any multipliers it picked up on the way.

How Card Race works

Card Race is a live race between the four Aces. They start at step 0 of a track with four steps and a finish line at step 5. The dealer draws cards one by one from a 48 card shoe, a standard deck with the Aces removed, and each card moves its suit one step forward. The first Ace to reach the finish wins.

Traps and the Aurum Strike

Four face down trap cards sit beside steps 1 to 4. After betting closes, each trap is set to either Move Back or a multiplier from 25x to 200x. A trap springs only when all four Aces stand on the same step: the card turns over, and its suit either moves back a step or stays put and takes the multiplier, which applies to the Main Bet if that suit goes on to win. Multipliers on one suit add together, and a sprung trap is replaced with a new one.

Bets and returns

The Main Bet backs the suit that crosses the finish first. The Donkey bet pays 4 to 1 on a suit finishing alone in last place; a tie for last loses. Global Sprint pays 529 to 1 when one Ace finishes while the other three are still at step 0. CreedRoomz puts the returns at about 97.7% for the Main Bet, 98.06% for Global Sprint and 87.5% for Donkey. If the shoe runs out, the leader wins; a tie for the lead is a draw that refunds Main Bets, and Global Sprint loses.

Is there a Card Race strategy?

No. The cards come out at random, so no suit is more likely to win. What you can choose is the bet, and the Donkey bet is the expensive one.

Traps are random too

Each trap is set to Move Back or a multiplier after betting closes, so no suit is favored by the traps.

The Donkey bet costs most

At about 87.5%, the Donkey bet keeps far more of your money over time than the Main Bet or Global Sprint.

What you can control

Prefer the Main Bet

The Main Bet and Global Sprint return about 97.7% and 98.06%; keep Donkey bets small or skip them.
