Should you play it?

Crazy Balls returns 96.10% on its regular cards and 95.54% to 96.49% on its Bonus cards, ordinary figures for a game show. The Bonus cards are long shots: before any extra Free Space, a Crazy Time card fills about one round in 352, so expect long gaps between the big multipliers. If you bet the maximum, the $500,000 round cap pulls every Bonus card below the regular cards.

Play it if

  • You like a bingo style draw with game show bonuses
  • You want a shot at Bonus game multipliers in the thousands
  • You are fine with a return of about 96%

Variance profile

High. Evolution gives Crazy Balls a volatility index of 9.90, rated high. Bonus cards fill rarely, and when they do the win can be a small multiplier or thousands of times the bet.

Bets and payouts

Regular cards

A card wins when you complete a line. Pays is per winning line: the regular payout first, then the most multipliers can lift it to. Several winning lines on one card add up.

Bet Pays RTP House edge
Free Space card 2 to 1, up to 39 to 1 per line 96.10% 3.90%
Multi card 2 to 1, up to 199 to 1 per line 96.10% 3.90%

Bonus game cards

A Bonus card wins when every number on it is drawn, and Free Spaces count. It pays the multiplier its Bonus game awards, times any Bonus multiplier the card received. These RTPs are before the $500,000 cap.

Bet When it wins Pays RTP House edge
Coin Flip All 3 of its numbers drawn Coin Flip multiplier 96.49% 3.51%
Cash Hunt All 4 of its numbers drawn Cash Hunt multiplier 96.09% 3.91%
Pachinko All 4 of its numbers drawn Pachinko multiplier 95.68% 4.32%
Crazy Time All 5 of its numbers drawn Crazy Time multiplier 95.54% 4.46%

For a player betting the maximum, the $500,000 cap lowers the Bonus cards to 95.61% for Coin Flip, 95.62% for Cash Hunt, 94.84% for Pachinko and 94.88% for Crazy Time. Free Space and Multi cards stay at 96.10%.

Regular card pays are odds per winning line, with your stake returned on top, as Evolution's paytable lists them: 2 to 1 returns 3x your bet. Bonus cards pay the multiplier won in their Bonus game. RTP is the share of all money bet that comes back over a very long run; house edge is the rest. Neither predicts a single session.

How Crazy Balls works

Crazy Balls is a live game show from Evolution that pairs a bingo style ball draw with the four Bonus games from Crazy Time. Each round a machine draws 20 numbered balls, and you win by completing a line on a regular card or by filling a Bonus game card.

1 Up to 4 cards

Pick your cards

Bet on up to four regular 5x5 cards, set each one to Free Space or Multi, and add any Bonus game cards you want.

2 Random boosts

The host adds boosts

When betting closes, the host presses a button that places random Free Spaces and multipliers on the cards you bet on.

3 20 of 60 balls

The balls are drawn

The machine draws 20 balls. Complete a line on a regular card, or match every number on a Bonus card, to win. Bonus games follow the draw.

How a round runs

While betting is open you choose up to four regular cards and any of the Bonus cards. Each regular card is a 5×5 grid of random numbers from 1 to 60. Bonus cards hold fewer numbers: three for Coin Flip, four for Cash Hunt and Pachinko, five for Crazy Time. When betting closes, the host places random Free Spaces and multipliers on the cards you bet on, then the machine draws 20 balls. A Free Space counts as a drawn number.

Free Space card or Multi card

You can switch each regular card between two types. A Free Space card has a free center cell, which makes a line easier to complete. A Multi card always gets a multiplier in its center cell instead, so lines are harder to complete but can pay more. Both return 96.10%.

How the multipliers combine

A multiplier only counts if the ball with its number is drawn. A winning line with no multiplier pays 3x your bet, and two such lines on one card pay 6x.

  • Standard (10x or 20x): applies when it sits in your winning line. Several in one line are added together, so $5 on a line with 10x and 20x pays $5 x 30 = $150.
  • Line (20x or 50x): applies when every number in the line is drawn, itself included, and adds to any Standard multiplier in that line: $5 with 50x and 10x pays $300.
  • Global (2x or 3x): multiplies every winning line on the card, even from outside the line. A card can hold up to two. Add a drawn 2x Global to the last example and it pays $600.

A Standard or Line multiplier replaces the base 3x rather than adding to it.

The Bonus games

A Bonus card wins when all its numbers are drawn, and its Bonus game starts once all 20 balls are out. Bonus cards can also get extra Free Spaces (up to one on Coin Flip, two on Cash Hunt and Pachinko, three on Crazy Time) and a Bonus multiplier of 2x to 50x that multiplies whatever the game awards. A 100x Cash Hunt win with a 10x Bonus multiplier pays 1,000x.

  • Coin Flip: each side of a red and blue coin gets a multiplier. The side facing up after the flip wins.
  • Cash Hunt: a wall of 108 multipliers is covered by symbols and shuffled. You aim at one symbol and win what it hides.
  • Pachinko: a puck drops through pegs onto 16 multipliers. Landing on DOUBLE doubles them all and the puck drops again, up to 10,000x.
  • Crazy Time: you pick one of three flappers on a 64 segment wheel and win the multiplier it stops on. A flapper on DOUBLE doubles the wheel and spins again, up to 20,000x.

Watch out for the payout cap

Your total winnings in a round are capped at $500,000, applied at the end of the round. Only big bettors are likely to reach it, but for them it lowers every Bonus card’s return, while the Free Space and Multi cards keep 96.10%.

The math behind Crazy Balls

Evolution publishes the RTP of every bet, so those figures are the studio's own. The draw itself is simple to count: 20 balls from 60 means any one number comes up one round in three.

Regular cards hold their return at any stake

Free Space and Multi cards both return 96.10%, and Evolution's figures for maximum bets leave them there. The payout cap does not cut into them.

Coin Flip is the best Bonus card, until the cap

Below the cap, Coin Flip returns 96.49% and Crazy Time 95.54%. For a player betting the maximum, the $500,000 cap drops them to 95.61% and 94.88%, and Pachinko falls furthest, from 95.68% to 94.84%.

Filling a Bonus card is a long shot

Before any extra Free Space, all three Coin Flip numbers come up in 3.33% of rounds, about one in 30. The four on a Cash Hunt or Pachinko card come up in 0.99%, about one in 100, and the five on a Crazy Time card in 0.28%, about one in 352. Each extra Free Space removes one number you need.

Is there a Crazy Balls strategy?

Only in which bets you make. The balls, Free Spaces, multipliers and Bonus game results are random, and earlier rounds change nothing.

Free Space or Multi

Both return 96.10%. A Free Space card completes lines more easily and pays up to 39 to 1 per line; a Multi card completes fewer but can pay up to 199 to 1. Pick by how you want wins to arrive, not by price.

Which Bonus card

Coin Flip has the best return below the cap, 96.49%, and needs the fewest numbers. Crazy Time has the lowest, 95.54%, and needs the most. If you bet the maximum, the regular cards return more than any Bonus card.

Targets and flappers

The Cash Hunt wall is covered and shuffled before you aim, and you pick a Crazy Time flapper before the wheel spins. Neither choice can be made with any knowledge, so no pick is better than another.

What you can control

Your cost per round

House edge, cheapest first. A shorter bar costs less.

  1. Coin Flip3.51%
  2. Free Space card and 1 more3.90%
  3. Cash Hunt3.91%
  4. Pachinko4.32%
  5. Crazy Time4.46%

Your stake per round

Every card is its own bet, so four regular cards plus four Bonus cards is eight bets a round. Set a total for the round before you start.

How long you play

At about a 96% return, play costs around 4% of everything you bet over time, and the high volatility means short sessions can swing far more than that.

Crazy Balls FAQ

Do I need a regular card bet to play the Bonus games?

No. You can bet on Bonus cards alone, with or without any regular cards in the same round.

Can I play more than one Bonus game in a round?

Yes. Every Bonus card you bet on and fill plays its own game in that round. They always run in the same order: Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, then Crazy Time.

Does every Bonus card get a Bonus multiplier?

No. Bonus cards may receive one, from 2x to 50x, but not every card gets one every round.

What if I do not pick a Cash Hunt target or a Crazy Time flapper in time?

The game picks one for you at random. The same happens if there is an interruption during the decision time.

What are the Rescue Flip and Rescue Drop?

Occasional surprises. In Coin Flip, if the multipliers are low, the coin may be flipped again. In Pachinko, if the puck lands on 2x, 3x or 4x, it may be dropped again from a new zone, and any lower multipliers are raised to match the one it first landed on.

What happens if I lose my connection mid round?

Your bets stay valid and are settled without you; the results show in your history when you return. A malfunction is different: it voids the round, and bets are returned.
