Should you play it?

Play it if

  • You like baccarat without a commission on Banker
  • You bet Player or Banker and keep side bets small
  • You like following the roads

Variance profile

Low. Banker and Player each win close to half the rounds, so results swing gently. Tie and Super 6 win rarely and swing hard.

How bets settle

Payouts below describe winning profit. A winning bet normally also returns its stake, with exceptions shown in the settlement column. Commission and additional fees must also be accounted for.

BetProfit payoutCommission and settlementHouse edge
Banker 1 to 1; 0.5 to 1 on a win with 6 Push on a Tie. 1.46%
Player 1 to 1 Push on a Tie. 1.24%

Super 6 15 to 1 Banker wins with a total of 6. Needs a Banker, Player or Tie bet in the same round. 13.82%

A larger payout is not a better return by itself. The cost depends on how often that bet wins and on every commission, reduced payout and fee that applies.

The math behind Live Baccarat

We count every possible deal from a fresh eight deck shoe without replacing the cards, then apply this game's payouts. Naturals stop both hands. There are 4,998,398,275,503,360 ordered six card sequences; shorter hands are counted with the possible unused card orders. Every bet is priced separately.

No commission is taken on Banker wins: Banker pays 1 to 1, except a Banker win with a total of 6, which pays 0.5 to 1. Player pays 1 to 1 and Tie 8 to 1. Banker and Player stakes are returned when the hands tie.

Super 6 pays 15 to 1 when Banker wins with a total of 6, and needs a Banker, Player or Tie bet in the same round.

The total returned includes this wager's stake, not any other wager. Average cost is stake times rounds times house edge, not a session prediction. Figures are rounded from exact fresh shoe probabilities; dealt cards change the next hand's probabilities. These calculations do not include casino payout rounding or table limits.

Is there a Live Baccarat strategy?

No system beats the house edge. Here the cheapest choice is Player at 1.24%; the roads record past hands and do not change the next one.

The half paid 6 is the price of Banker

Banker wins more often than Player, 45.86% of rounds against 44.62%, but its wins with a 6 pay only half, which leaves Banker at 1.46%.

Super 6 is a long shot

Banker wins with a 6 in 5.39% of rounds, so Super 6 at 15 to 1 costs 13.82%.

How Live Baccarat works

Baccarat without the commission

Live Baccarat is Iconic21’s punto banco with no commission on Banker. Banker and Player pay even money, except a Banker win with a total of 6, which pays 0.5 to 1. The shoe holds eight decks, a card is burned before each round, and the dealer follows fixed drawing rules, so the bet is the only decision you make. Five scoreboards track the shoe: Bead Road, Big Road, Big Eye Road, Small Road and Cockroach Pig, with a predictor for the next marks.

What each bet costs

Banker wins 45.86% of rounds and Player 44.62%; the rest are ties, which return Banker and Player stakes. Banker wins with a 6 in 5.39% of rounds, and paying those at half gives Banker a 1.46% house edge, a little above Player at 1.24%. Tie pays 8 to 1 but wins only 9.52% of rounds, a 14.36% edge.

Side bets

Super 6 pays 15 to 1 when Banker wins with 6 and needs a main bet in the same round; it costs 13.82%. The table also offers Player Pair, Banker Pair, Either Pair and Suited Pair, and Player Bonus and Banker Bonus, which pay when that hand wins with a natural or by at least 4 points and push on a natural tie.

Scoring and automatic draws
Punto banco scoring: aces count as 1, 2 through 9 at face value, tens and face cards as zero, and only the last digit counts. An initial natural 8 or 9 stops both hands. Otherwise Player draws on 0 through 5 and stands on 6 or 7. If Player stands, Banker draws on 0 through 5. If Player draws, Banker follows the third card table: it draws on 0 to 2 always, on 3 unless Player's third card is 8, on 4 against 2 to 7, on 5 against 4 to 7 and on 6 against 6 or 7.

Live Baccarat FAQ

Why does Banker pay half on a 6?

That is the price of dropping the commission. Banker pays even money on every win except one with a total of 6, which pays 0.5 to 1. Super 6 is the side bet built on that hand and pays 15 to 1.
