Should you play it?

Banker, Player and Tie in four formats that differ in pace, limits and camera work, not rules. On the standard punto banco paytable Banker costs 1.06% and Player 1.24%; Tie and the Egalité bets cost far more.

Play it if

  • You want classic punto banco with a live dealer
  • You like faster hands at a Speed table
  • You want to follow several tables at once

Variance profile

Low. Banker and Player each win close to half the hands, so results swing gently. Tie and the Egalité bets win rarely and swing hard.

The math behind Baccarat

These figures are rules derived from the standard punto banco paytable: Banker pays 0.95 to 1 after a 5% commission, Player 1 to 1 and Tie 8 to 1, with Banker and Player stakes returned on a Tie. Every deal is counted from a fresh shoe at both eight and six decks.

Player1 to 144.62%1.24%1.24%
Tie8 to 19.52%14.36%14.44%

Win chances are shown for eight decks; at six decks they differ by less than 0.02 points. Banker and Player cost the same at either deck count to two decimals. Tie is the one bet where the deck count shows, and at either count it costs more than ten times the Banker bet.

Compare three ordinary bets

This example uses a fresh shoe, automatic punto banco draws, 5% Banker commission, Player paying 1 to 1 and Tie paying 8 to 1. Ties return Banker and Player stakes. It has no extra fees or side bets. It is not a paytable for every live baccarat game.

The total return includes your original stake. A push returns the stake without profit. The average cost is stake times rounds times house edge, not a prediction for one session. These probabilities start with a full shoe; they change as cards leave the shoe. Displayed figures are rounded from exact enumeration. Payout rounding and minimum commission units are not included.

Is there a Baccarat strategy?

No system beats the house edge. On the standard paytable the cheapest choice is Banker at 1.06%; the statistics on screen record past hands and do not change the next one.

Banker is cheapest even after commission

Banker wins more hands than Player, which is why it pays only 0.95 to 1. Even with the 5% commission it costs 1.06% against Player's 1.24%.

Egalité is a long shot

The Egalité bets are tie bets with payouts up to 160 to 1. They win rarely, so treat them as a small side bet, not a plan.

  1. Banker1.06%
  2. Player1.24%
  3. Tie14.36% to 14.44%

Skip the Tie

At 8 to 1 a Tie costs about 14.4%, more than ten times the Banker bet.

Mind the pace at Speed tables

Speed Baccarat deals more hands an hour. Lower your stake if you want the hour to cost the same.

How Baccarat works

Four tables, one game

Imagine Live deals punto banco, Player versus Banker, in four formats that keep the traditional rules. Classic Baccarat has several camera views, detailed statistics and Auto Bet. Speed Baccarat shortens the time between hands. VIP Speed Baccarat adds higher betting limits and an exclusive studio. Gold Baccarat is filmed by the studio’s Robotic Arm camera, with moving angles and close card reveals.

At the table

Every table is streamed in 4K with card zoom and low latency, and you can follow and bet at more than one table from the same screen. Beside Banker, Player and Tie there are Egalité side bets, tie bets that pay up to 160 to 1.

What it costs

On the standard punto banco paytable, Banker pays 0.95 to 1 after a 5% commission and costs 1.06%, the cheapest bet on the table. Player pays 1 to 1 at 1.24%, and Tie at 8 to 1 costs about 14.4%. The game help at your table lists the payouts, so check them before you bet.

Baccarat FAQ

Is Speed Baccarat a different game?

No. Imagine Live describes Speed Baccarat as the same traditional game with less time between hands. Each hand costs the same; more hands an hour means more staked.
