Should you play it?

Standard commission baccarat. Banker is the cheapest bet at a 1.06% house edge and Player costs 1.24%; the no commission Banker costs 1.46%, and Tie and every side bet cost more, so keep those for fun, not value.

Play it if

  • You want classic commission baccarat with a live dealer
  • You bet Banker or Player and keep side bets small
  • You like following the roads

Variance profile

Low. Banker and Player each win close to half the rounds, so results swing gently. Tie, Lucky 6 and the pair bets win rarely and swing hard.

How bets settle

Payouts below describe winning profit. A winning bet normally also returns its stake, with exceptions shown in the settlement column. Commission and additional fees must also be accounted for.

A larger payout is not a better return by itself. The cost depends on how often that bet wins and on every commission, reduced payout and fee that applies.

The math behind Baccarat

We count every possible deal from a fresh eight deck shoe without replacing the cards, then apply this game's payouts. Naturals stop both hands. There are 4,998,398,275,503,360 ordered six card sequences; shorter hands are counted with the possible unused card orders. Every bet is priced separately.

Banker wins pay 0.95 to 1 after the 5% commission, Player pays 1 to 1 and Tie pays 8 to 1. Banker and Player stakes are returned when the hands tie.

In no commission mode a Banker win pays 1 to 1, except a win with 6 points, which pays 0.5 to 1. Its Lucky 6 side bet pays 12 to 1 when Banker wins with a two card 6 and 20 to 1 when Banker wins with a three card 6.

Pair bets look at card ranks, not baccarat points: a ten and a king are not a pair. Big wins when five or six cards are dealt in the round, Small when only four are.

The total returned includes this wager's stake, not any other wager. Average cost is stake times rounds times house edge, not a session prediction. Figures are rounded from exact fresh shoe probabilities; dealt cards change the next hand's probabilities. These calculations do not include casino payout rounding or table limits.

Is there a Baccarat strategy?

No system beats the house edge. The cheapest choice is Banker with commission at 1.06%; the roads on screen record past hands and do not change the next one.

The commission is the price of Banker

Banker wins more often than Player, 45.86% of rounds against 44.62%, and the 5% commission takes back most of that advantage.

No commission is not free

Paying only half on a Banker 6 costs more than the 5% commission: 1.46% against 1.06%.

Where to play live baccarat

None of the casinos we review that accept players in your region carry Winfinity live tables. These top-rated casinos accept players in your region and run live dealer tables from other studios.

How Baccarat works

Winfinity’s baccarat studios

Winfinity deals punto banco in two studios, Tao Yuan, named for the Peach Blossom Land of an ancient tale, and Shangrila. The shoe holds eight decks and the dealer follows fixed drawing rules, so the only decision you make is the bet. Cards are read by AI video recognition, the Bead Road, Big Road and derived roads track the shoe, and on mobile a multi table view lets you play several baccarat tables at once.

What each bet costs

Banker wins 45.86% of rounds and Player 44.62%; the rest are ties, which return Banker and Player stakes. Banker pays 0.95 to 1 after the 5% commission, a 1.06% house edge and the cheapest bet on the table. Player pays 1 to 1 at 1.24%. Tie pays 8 to 1 but wins only 9.52% of rounds, a 14.36% edge.

No commission and Lucky 6

One tap switches the table to no commission baccarat. Banker then pays 1 to 1, except a Banker win with 6 points, which pays 0.5 to 1, for a 1.46% edge. It brings the Lucky 6 side bet, which pays 12 to 1 when Banker wins with a two card 6 and 20 to 1 with a three card 6, at a 16.68% edge.

Side bets

Player Pair and Banker Pair pay 11 to 1 when that hand’s first two cards are a pair. Big pays 0.5 to 1 when five or six cards are dealt in the round, Small 1.5 to 1 when only four are. Their house edges run from 5.28% on Small to 10.36% on the pairs, so every side bet costs more than Banker or Player.

Scoring and automatic draws
Punto banco scoring: aces count as 1, 2 through 9 at face value, tens and face cards as zero, and only the last digit counts. An initial natural 8 or 9 stops both hands. Otherwise Player draws on 0 through 5 and stands on 6 or 7. If Player stands, Banker draws on 0 through 5. If Player draws, Banker follows the third card table: it draws on 0 to 2 always, on 3 unless Player's third card is 8, on 4 against 2 to 7, on 5 against 4 to 7 and on 6 against 6 or 7.

Baccarat FAQ

Why are Big and Small sometimes unavailable?

They may be switched off once five decks of the shoe have been played, since how many cards a round uses depends more on the cards left as the shoe runs down.
