Should you play it?

Teen Patti gives you one real decision a round, Play or Fold, against a dealer who needs Queen high to qualify. Make that call well and the Ante returns 96.63%, the best of its three bets. Pair Plus returns 95.51%, and the 6 Card Bonus, at 91.44%, is a pricey way to chase its 1000 to 1 top prize.

Play it if

  • You like one simple decision each round
  • You want a main bet that returns 96.63% when you play it well
  • You enjoy an optional long shot on the side

Variance profile

Medium. The Ante and Play pay even money and folds cost only the Ante, so the main game swings modestly. The side bets win rarely and pay big: the 6 Card Bonus lands on 7.28% of rounds.

How Teen Patti works

Teen Patti is Evolution's live version of the traditional Indian card game, streamed from an Asian-themed studio. You play your three cards against the dealer's three, and any number of players can join each round.

1 Ante

Place your bets

Put down an Ante to join the round. Pair Plus and the 6 Card Bonus are optional extras on top of it.

2 3 cards

See your hand

You get three cards face up and the dealer gets three face down. The game shows which hand you hold.

3 Play or Fold

Make your call

Play 1x adds a Play bet equal to your Ante; Fold gives up the Ante. The dealer's cards are then turned and every bet is settled.

Three card hand rankings

Every hand has exactly three cards, so the order differs from five card poker. From best to worst, with how often your three cards make each one:

  • Straight Flush: three cards in sequence, all one suit, such as King, Queen, Jack of diamonds. The best is a suited Ace, King, Queen, called a Mini Royal. 0.22% of hands.
  • Three of a Kind: three cards of one rank, such as three Kings. 0.24% of hands.
  • Straight: three cards in sequence in two or more suits, such as 9, 8, 7. 3.26% of hands.
  • Flush: three cards of one suit, not in sequence. 4.96% of hands.
  • Pair: two cards of one rank plus a third card. 16.94% of hands.
  • High Card: none of the above, so your highest card counts. 74.39% of hands.

A Straight beats a Flush because three cards make fewer Straights: 720 of the 22,100 possible hands, against 1,096 Flushes. An Ace counts high, or low only in Ace, 2, 3, the lowest Straight. When both hands are the same type, the higher cards win, and if those match, the next card (the kicker) decides. Two Straights with the same top card tie, because suits never rank.

How the main game pays

The dealer needs Queen high or better to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify, your Ante pays 1 to 1 and your Play bet comes back. If the dealer qualifies, the better hand wins: beat the dealer and the Ante and Play both pay 1 to 1, lose and both go, tie and both come back. With $10 on the Ante and $10 on Play, a win against a qualifying dealer pays $20 plus your $20 back.

The Ante Bonus

Play a Straight or better and your Ante also earns a bonus, paid even if the dealer wins: 1 to 1 for a Straight, 4 to 1 for Three of a Kind and 5 to 1 for a Straight Flush. You only collect it if you click Play 1x, and the game reminds you when a bonus is waiting.

The side bets

Pair Plus pays on your three cards alone: any Pair or better wins, from 1 to 1 up to 100 to 1 for a Mini Royal. 6 Card Bonus joins your three cards with the dealer’s three and pays on the best five card hand of Three of a Kind or better, up to 1000 to 1 for a Royal Flush. Both are settled on their own, so they still pay if you fold or the dealer wins.

The math behind Teen Patti

Your three cards come from one shuffled 52 card deck and the dealer's from the 49 left, so every chance here is an exact count. The paytables are fixed; your Play or Fold call is the only thing that moves the Ante's return.

Where the Ante's return comes from

With the best calls you fold 32.58% of hands and lose just the Ante. Of all rounds, you win both bets 23.91% of the time, collect the Ante against a dealer who fails to qualify 21.00% of the time, and lose both 22.45% of the time. The Ante Bonus on Straights and better lifts the total to 96.63%.

Your calls are worth about 4 points

Playing every hand drops the Ante to 92.35%. Copying the dealer's own line, playing Queen high or better, gets 96.55%, close to the best.

Side bets win rarely

Pair Plus wins on 25.61% of hands, mostly at 1 to 1 for a Pair. The 6 Card Bonus wins on 7.28% of rounds, and its 1000 to 1 Royal Flush comes up about once in 108,000 rounds.

Is there a Teen Patti strategy?

Yes, one decision: Play or Fold. Evolution's 96.63% Ante return assumes the best call every round, and that call follows one line: play Queen, 6, 4 or better, fold anything weaker.

Where the line falls

Any Pair or better is a Play, and so are Flushes and Straights, which rank above a Pair. With High Card, compare your cards to Queen, 6, 4 from the top down: King, 3, 2 and Queen, 7, 2 are a Play; Queen, 6, 3 and Jack, 10, 8 are a Fold.

Never fold a bonus hand

Straights, Three of a Kind and Straight Flushes collect the Ante Bonus only with a Play bet, and they sit far above the line anyway.

Side bets stand apart

Your call never changes what Pair Plus or the 6 Card Bonus pays. Both return less than the Ante, so they raise your cost per round.

What you can control

Your cost per round

House edge, cheapest first. A shorter bar costs less.

  1. Ante3.37%
  2. Pair Plus4.49%
  3. 6 Card Bonus8.56%

Your stake per round

Playing a hand doubles your Ante at risk. With $10 on the Ante and $5 on each side bet, a played hand puts $30 on the table.

How long you play

At the Ante's 96.63%, play costs about $3.37 for every $100 of Ante over time. The 6 Card Bonus costs about $8.56 per $100.

Teen Patti FAQ

What happens if I don't decide in time?

Your hand is folded automatically and the screen shows AUTO FOLDED. Evolution’s rules say you lose all your bets in that case, so keep an eye on the decision timer, especially with side bets down.

What if I lose my connection during a round?

If you drop out while betting is still open, your bets are void and returned. Once betting has closed they stay valid and are settled without you, and the result is in your History when you return.

Can I bet Pair Plus or the 6 Card Bonus without an Ante?

No. The Ante is what puts you in the round; the two side bets can only be added on top of it, alone or together.

Do earlier rounds change the odds of the next hand?

No. The cards are shuffled after every round, so each deal starts from a full 52 card deck.

Can I see how other players decided?

Yes. Decision Statistics shows what share of players chose Play or Fold in the current round. It is a head count, not advice, and it has no effect on your hand.
