How Roulette works

CreedRoomz’s dealer roulette

Roulette is CreedRoomz’s live dealer European roulette, dealt from its studios in Yerevan. The wheel has 37 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. When betting time ends the dealer spins the ball, and a chat window lets you talk to the dealer and other players. You can save your own combinations of bets as favorites and place them again in one click.

Bets and payouts

The layout carries the usual inside bets (straight up, split, street, corner and six line) and outside bets (columns, dozens, red or black, odd or even, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36). Zero is not covered by any outside bet. CreedRoomz rates Classic Roulette at 97.30%, the return of the standard payouts on a single zero wheel, from 35 to 1 on a single number to even money on red or black: a 2.70% house edge on every bet.

Call bets on the racetrack

The racetrack places the classic sector bets in one go: Voisins du Zero (9 chips), Jeu 0 (4 chips), Tiers du Cylindre (6 chips) and Orphelins (5 chips), or a number with its neighbors on each side. Special bets add Finale en Plein (every number ending in the same digit) and the Red Snake and Black Snake. All are bundles of ordinary bets, so they cost the same as any other bet.

Aurum mode

Some tables run in Aurum mode. After betting, one to five Aurum numbers are picked at random each round, and a win on one is multiplied from 50x to 700x, a payout of 49 to 1 up to 699 to 1. CreedRoomz rates Aurum mode at 97.00%, against 97.30% in Classic mode, so the multipliers come at a small price.

The math behind Roulette

The wheel has 37 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. The game's rules list every bet and its payout, and what each bet pays back over time. Every figure below comes from those numbers.

Try it: place your bets

Tap a number for a straight up bet, a line between two numbers for a split, a corner for four numbers, or the edge next to the dozens for a street or six line. Add as many bets as you like.

0321654987121110151413181716212019242322272625302928333231363534

The green pocket is not red, black, odd, even, high or low, so every outside bet loses when it lands. That is where the house edge comes from.

    One zero or two

    This table

    Single zero, 37 pockets

    2.70% house edge

One green pocket out of 37. $1 on red for 100 spins costs about $2.70 on average.

    Double zero, 38 pockets

    5.26% house edge

Two green pockets out of 38, almost double the cost: about $5.26 per 100 spins of $1 on red. The five number bet (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) costs even more, 7.89%.

    Aurum mode

On tables with Aurum mode, one to five Aurum numbers are picked at random each round, and a win on one pays 50x to 700x (49 to 1 up to 699 to 1). CreedRoomz rates Aurum mode at 97.00% and Classic mode at 97.30%; the figures above are for Classic mode.

The rules at your casino may show different figures; its in game help is the version that applies to you.

    Is there a Roulette strategy?

No. In Classic mode every bet costs 2.70%, and nothing you do at the layout changes the 1 in 37 chance of any pocket.

    Call bets are bundles

Voisins, Tiers, Orphelins and Jeu 0 are groups of ordinary bets. They spread your stake over a sector of the wheel at the same 2.70% cost.

    Aurum numbers are random

The Aurum numbers are picked after betting, so no number is more likely to carry a multiplier. Over time Aurum mode returns 97.00%, a little less than Classic.

    What you can control

    Pick the mode

Classic mode is the cheaper of the two, at 97.30%. Choose Aurum only if the shot at 700x is worth the extra cost to you.

    Size your session

At 2.70% a spin, $10 a round costs about 27 cents on average. Set a money and time limit before you start.
