How Standard Roulette works

OnAir’s dealer roulette

Standard Roulette, launched in March 2022, is OnAir Entertainment’s live dealer roulette, broadcast from its studio in Riga, Latvia. It follows European roulette rules: the wheel has 37 pockets, the numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. Several camera angles follow the ball on every spin, and the game is offered in more than 20 languages.

Bets and statistics

Besides the usual inside and outside bets, a racetrack lays the numbers out in wheel order, you can save favorite bets, and special bets cover Finales en Plein, Finales a Cheval and Complete Bets. Chips can be dragged and dropped onto the grid, and the statistics show the last 500 results, hot and cold numbers and hit percentages.

Play on any screen

The game adjusts to any screen size and plays in portrait or landscape, on desktop or phone. An autoplay option is there when you want it.

The math behind Standard Roulette

The wheel has 37 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. The figures below are rules derived: they use the standard payouts for this wheel, from 35 to 1 on a single number to even money on red or black, and work out the house edge exactly from the payouts and the pockets.

Try it: place your bets

Tap a number for a straight up bet, a line between two numbers for a split, a corner for four numbers, or the edge next to the dozens for a street or six line. Add as many bets as you like.

The green pocket is not red, black, odd, even, high or low, so every outside bet loses when it lands. That is where the house edge comes from.

"A fair price" is the payout that would make a bet break even over time: the pockets it loses on for each pocket it wins on. Every payout here is below it. These are worked out exactly from the payouts and the 37 pockets.

    One zero or two

    This table

    Single zero, 37 pockets

    2.70% house edge

One green pocket out of 37. $1 on red for 100 spins costs about $2.70 on average.

    Double zero, 38 pockets

    5.26% house edge

Two green pockets out of 38, almost double the cost: about $5.26 per 100 spins of $1 on red. The five number bet (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) costs even more, 7.89%.

    Same game, different presentation

OnAir's Standard Roulette deals the single zero European game with a dealer at the wheel. Every bet returns 97.30%, so no bet is cheaper than another: a 35 to 1 straight up and an even money red are priced the same, they just win at very different rates.

Studio source: OnAir Entertainment Standard Roulette page, checked November 6, 2026. Check the payouts in your casino's game help: if they differ from the standard payouts above, these figures do not apply.

Is there a Standard Roulette strategy?

No. On the standard single zero payouts every bet costs the same 2.70%, and nothing you do at the layout changes the 1 in 37 chance of any pocket.

    Statistics are history

The last 500 results, hot and cold numbers and hit percentages describe past spins. The wheel has no memory, so every number is still 1 in 37 on the next spin.

    Special bets are bundles

Finales and Complete Bets are groups of ordinary bets. They spread your stake over more numbers at the same cost per chip on the standard payouts.

    What you can control

    Check the payouts first

Open the game help at your table and confirm a single number pays 35 to 1 and red pays 1 to 1. Those payouts give the 2.70% edge shown here.

    Size your session

At 2.70% a spin, $10 a round costs about 27 cents on average. Set a money and time limit before you start.
