Should you play it?

A plain eight deck game where the dealer stands on all 17s, you can double on any two cards and split once. Deal Now and decisions set before your turn keep the rounds moving.

Play it if

  • You want a classic eight deck game that pays 3:2
  • You like a dealer who stands on all 17s
  • You enjoy Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side bets

Variance profile

Low. Plain blackjack on the main bet keeps swings modest; the side bets, paying up to 100 times the bet, are where the bigger and rarer wins sit.

How Standard Blackjack works

The table

Standard Blackjack is the game OnAir Entertainment launched with in November 2021, and its Speed and Eclipse games are built on it. It is dealt at tables such as OA Blackjack Niagara Falls and OA Blackjack Ottawa, whose presenters speak English, Italian and Romanian. Each table seats seven players, and you can play more than one seat or bet behind a seated player.

The rules

The cards come from eight decks, with the cut card placed about halfway through the shoe. The dealer must draw to 16 and stand on all 17s, and blackjack pays 3:2. You can double on any first two cards except a blackjack, for one more card, and split any two cards of equal value, Aces included, once per hand. The dealer’s second card is dealt face down; with a 10 value card showing, the dealer peeks at it for blackjack before anyone acts. With an Ace showing, insurance is offered and pays 2:1.

Extras

Deal Now lets players shorten the betting phase, and you can set your decision before your turn comes up. Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side bets sit beside the main bet and pay up to 100 times the bet.
