Should you play it?

Pragmatic's standard blackjack became one of the better classic tables when double after split arrived in 2025. With dozens of parallel tables, a seat at your stakes is rarely more than a click away.

Play it if

  • You want double after split, added across the fleet in June 2025
  • You want a seat instantly; Pragmatic runs one of the largest table fleets anywhere
  • You want the same rules from $5 tables up to the Ruby VIP rooms

Variance profile

Low. Straight even-money blackjack with no fees or mechanics; the optional side bets are the only volatility dial.

How Blackjack works

A fleet, not a table

Pragmatic Play entered live casino in 2019 and scaled fast: its classic blackjack now runs as one of the largest table fleets in the industry, with dozens of seven-seat tables in the green and Azure studios and a Ruby VIP tier above them. The color names mark stakes and styling only; every table deals the same game.

Rules that got better in 2025

Eight decks, dealer stands on all 17s, blackjack pays 3:2, double on any two cards, one split with no hit on split Aces, no surrender, and since June 2025, double after split. That one change moved the published return from 99.29% to 99.41% and lifted Pragmatic’s classic game to the same rule quality as Playtech’s and Ezugi’s tables. The dealer checks for blackjack only when showing an Ace.

Playing it

The chart above is computed for the current rules, double after split included, so pair play is slightly more aggressive than on Evolution’s no-DAS classics. Perfect Pairs and 21+3 are on every felt; treat them as entertainment. Beyond that, pick the table color that matches your stakes and play the chart.

Blackjack FAQ

Are the green, Azure and Ruby tables different games?

No. They are stakes tiers of the same eight-deck S17 game. Green and Azure run accessible limits; Ruby is the VIP room with higher minimums.

What changed in June 2025?

Pragmatic enabled double after split across its live blackjack tables (except after splitting Aces), lifting the published return from 99.29% to 99.41% with correct play.

Does the dealer take a hole card?

The dealer checks for blackjack only when showing an Ace. Against a ten-up card your doubles and splits are exposed if the dealer turns out to have blackjack.

What limits does the fleet run?

Roughly $5 to $2,500 on the green and Azure tables, with the Ruby VIP tier taking four-figure hands.
