How French Roulette works

Bet on the French table layout: Rouge or Noir, Pair or Impair and Manque or Passe are the even money bets.

Half back on zero

If zero lands, even money bets return half their stake. Other bets lose as normal, and a straight up win pays 35 to 1.

The French layout

Pragmatic Play’s French Roulette uses the French table layout and names: the even money bets are Red or Black, Pair or Impair for even or odd, and Manque or Passe for 1 to 18 or 19 to 36. The wheel is the single zero European one with 37 pockets, and the inside bets and payouts are the standard ones, from 35 to 1 straight up to 2 to 1 on dozens and columns.

La Partage

The rule that matters is La Partage. When the ball lands on zero, every even money bet loses only half its stake; the other half is returned. On a standard table those bets lose the whole stake on zero. That one change halves what the even money bets cost.

What it costs

Pragmatic’s help leaves the return figures to each casino’s settings, but the rule and the 37 pockets fix the price exactly. Even money bets return 98.65%, a 1.35% edge, and every other bet returns 97.30%, a 2.70% edge. That makes this the cheapest table in Pragmatic’s range for outside bettors.

The wheel has 37 pockets: the numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero. The game's rules list every bet and its payout. Every figure below comes from those numbers: the house edge is worked out exactly from the payouts and the pockets.
