Zelle Casinos

Zelle works at the casinos below through MatchPay. You buy account credits from another player and settle with them bank to bank, so the money moves between two people rather than to the casino. How the MatchPay trade works.

Money in is how you pay into your casino account. Money out is how the casino pays your winnings back to you: it approves each withdrawal first, and may ask you to verify your identity before the first one.

Can you pay an online casino with Zelle?

Not directly. Zelle is not a payment method a cashier can plug into: it moves dollars from one person's US bank account to another's, inside the banking apps of the banks and credit unions that offer it. Zelle itself says to use it only with people you know and trust. The Zelle service agreements banks publish go further and say you may not use Zelle to pay gambling debts or anything else prohibited by law.

So for a player at Bovada, Ignition, Cafe Casino or Slots.lv, the route is a MatchPay trade: you buy account credits from another player who is cashing out and pay that player with Zelle, bank to bank. Each of the four casinos names Zelle in its help center as a MatchPay app, for deposits and for withdrawals.

Zelle has no crypto route. It only moves dollars between bank accounts, so a Zelle user who wants to reach a crypto casino needs a second app or an exchange, covered further down.

What makes a Zelle trade different

The trade itself works the same in every app. What changes with Zelle is the banking underneath it.

QuestionWith Zelle
When does a trade settle?Business days only. Bovada and Slots.lv say Zelle trades made on a weekend or holiday are processed the next business day.
Who sets how much you can send?Your bank or credit union, not Zelle. Check its Zelle limit before you create a large order.
Can you cancel a payment?Only while the person you paid has not yet enrolled with Zelle. Once they are enrolled, the money is in their account and cannot be reversed.
Is there purchase protection? No. Zelle does not offer it.
Can you use it with Chime? No. Chime's partner banks are not in the Zelle network.

How to deposit with Zelle through MatchPay

  1. Make sure Zelle is set up in your own bank's app or online banking, enrolled with your email address or US mobile number.
  2. In the casino cashier, choose Deposit and select MatchPay.
  3. On your first trade, tap Join Now and create a MatchPay ID and password. MatchPay checks your email and phone number, and the ID is permanent.
  4. Create an order for the amount you want and tick Zelle, plus any other app you can pay from. On a weekend, a second app is the only way to finish a trade before Monday.
  5. MatchPay matches you with a seller and opens a chat. Only send money to the Zelle details the seller shares in that chat, and check the name your banking app displays before you confirm.
  6. Send the payment from your banking app. Once the seller confirms it arrived, the credits land in your casino balance.

How to withdraw with Zelle through MatchPay

  1. Choose Withdraw in the cashier and select MatchPay.
  2. Once the casino approves the withdrawal, create an offer for the amount in your MatchPay account.
  3. A player who wants to deposit is matched with you and pays you with Zelle.
  4. Check that the money is in your bank account before you confirm the trade. A Pending or Processing status in Zelle means it has not arrived yet.

All four casinos publish the same MatchPay withdrawal limits: $10 to $2,000 a trade and two withdrawals a day. Bovada, Cafe Casino and Slots.lv publish the same $10 to $2,000 range for deposits, and a casino may hold you to three MatchPay deposit attempts a day depending on your account. The MatchPay best practices that the casinos reprint give a narrower $20 to $1,000 per trade, so staying inside that range is the safe choice. Your bank's own Zelle limit applies on top of all of this.

The welcome offer may not follow you. Bovada, Cafe Casino and Slots.lv say their welcome bonuses do not apply to MatchPay deposits unless the bonus terms say otherwise. Ignition says MatchPay deposits currently qualify for its welcome bonus, for what may be a limited time.

Why weekend Zelle trades wait until Monday

A Zelle trade is tied to two bank accounts, so it follows the banking week. The MatchPay best practices that every one of these casinos reprints say instant credits through Zelle are only available Monday through Friday, and that a Zelle trade started over the weekend completes on the next business day. A trade started on a holiday waits the same way.

If you want to play on a Saturday, either deposit by Friday or tick a second app such as Venmo or Cash App when you create the order, so MatchPay can match you with someone who settles that way instead.

A Zelle payment cannot be pulled back. Once the person you paid is enrolled, Zelle cannot cancel or reverse the payment, so a mistake or a scam costs you the money. Pay only the player MatchPay matched you with, inside the trade, and ignore anyone claiming to be a moderator: moderators never take part in a trade. Bovada's help center also warns of scammers posing as staff who ask players to cancel a withdrawal and send money to a particular username.

If a trade goes wrong, click Report a Problem in the trade chat. MatchPay's support reviews the trade and the chat transcript and decides in about 48 hours, and its decision is final. The best practices warn that opening a dispute with your bank instead only delays that review.

Zelle, your bank and gambling

Zelle does not run your account. Your bank does, and the Zelle terms you accepted when you enrolled came from your bank. Those agreements typically say you will not use Zelle for gambling debts or payments prohibited by law. What your bank does about a payment it sees as gambling is up to your bank, so read its Zelle terms before you rely on this route.

One thing Zelle itself states plainly: it does not issue Form 1099K or report Zelle payments to the IRS. If money you receive is taxable, reporting it is up to you.

No Zelle? Other ways in from the US

  • Another MatchPay app. The same trade works with Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Apple Pay and Chime, and the business day rule applies only to Zelle.
  • Crypto from an app. Cash App sells Bitcoin, and Venmo and PayPal sell Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash. You can send any of them to a casino's deposit address, which opens every casino on our Bitcoin list, not just these four.
  • A direct bank deposit. Bovada and Cafe Casino also list a Direct Bank Transfer deposit, from $50 to $450 at a time. In states that license online casinos, those casinos take bank transfers through ACH directly.

Zelle or a second app?

Zelle

  • Already in your banking app, nothing new to install
  • No MatchPay fee, and money lands straight in your bank
  • Works for deposits and withdrawals
  • Business days only
  • Your bank sets the limit, and no payment can be reversed

Venmo or Cash App alongside it

  • Trades settle on weekends too
  • More players to match with when you tick both
  • Both also sell crypto for casinos beyond these four
  • One more account to verify and fund
  • Their own limits and fees apply

Frequently Asked Questions

Which online casinos accept Zelle?

None take it as a direct payment. Bovada, Ignition, Cafe Casino and Slots.lv accept it through MatchPay, where you pay another player with Zelle from your bank account and the casino credits you.

Can I withdraw casino winnings with Zelle?

Yes. All four MatchPay casinos list Zelle for withdrawals. A player who wants to deposit pays you with Zelle, from $10 to $2,000 a trade and up to two withdrawals a day, on business days.

Why is my Zelle trade not going through on the weekend?

Zelle trades are processed on business days only. A trade made on a weekend or holiday completes on the next business day. Tick a second app such as Venmo or Cash App if you need to finish sooner.

How much can I send with Zelle?

Your bank or credit union sets your Zelle limit, so check it in your banking app. On the casino side, a MatchPay trade runs from $10 to $2,000.

Can I cancel a Zelle payment to another player?

Only if they have not enrolled with Zelle yet. Once the person you paid is enrolled, the money is in their bank account and cannot be canceled or reversed. If a trade goes wrong, use Report a Problem in the MatchPay chat.

Can I buy bitcoin with Zelle for a casino?

No. Zelle only moves dollars between US bank accounts. To deposit with crypto, buy it in an app such as Cash App, Venmo or PayPal and send it to the casino's deposit address.
