Binance Smart Chain, now officially called BNB Chain, is the blockchain network behind the BNB token and a wide range of BEP-20 tokens including USDT on BSC. At online casinos, it functions as a fast, cheap alternative to Ethereum for sending crypto payments. Transactions confirm in seconds and fees are fractions of a cent, which makes it genuinely practical for casino use compared to networks that can cost several dollars per transaction.

BNB Chain was launched by Binance in September 2020 as a blockchain network running in parallel with the original Binance Chain. The original Binance Chain was designed primarily for token issuance and trading, while Binance Smart Chain added smart contract functionality, making it compatible with Ethereum's tooling and developer ecosystem. In February 2022, both chains were rebranded together as BNB Chain.
The technical approach makes BNB Chain fast and cheap. It uses a Proof of Staked Authority consensus mechanism with 21 validators, which is more centralised than Ethereum or Bitcoin but allows for much higher transaction throughput. The result is confirmation times of three to five seconds and transaction fees measured in fractions of a cent, paid in BNB.
Because BNB Chain is EVM-compatible (Ethereum Virtual Machine), the same wallets and tools used for Ethereum work on BNB Chain with a simple network configuration change. MetaMask, the most widely used crypto wallet, works seamlessly once the BNB Chain network is added to it.
Depositing via BNB Chain requires a compatible wallet loaded with BNB or a BEP-20 token like USDT. The casino needs to specifically support the BNB Chain network. Sending BNB on the wrong network (e.g. sending Ethereum to a BNB Chain address or vice versa) can result in lost funds, so confirming the network before any transaction is important.
MetaMask doesn't include BNB Chain by default, but adding it takes about a minute. Go to MetaMask Settings, select Networks, then Add a network, and manually enter the BNB Smart Chain details. The official network parameters are available on the BNB Chain documentation site. Once added, you can switch between Ethereum and BNB Chain in the MetaMask network dropdown.
Trust Wallet is an alternative that supports BNB Chain natively without any configuration. It was originally developed by Binance and supports a broad range of networks out of the box. For players already using the Binance ecosystem, Trust Wallet is the simpler setup.

They are the same network. Binance Smart Chain (BSC) was rebranded to BNB Chain in February 2022 as part of a broader rebrand of the Binance ecosystem. At casino cashiers you may see it listed as BSC, BNB Chain, or Binance Smart Chain. All three refer to the same network, and your BNB Chain wallet address works regardless of which label the casino uses.
It depends on the casino. Some casinos accept BNB deposits specifically; others accept USDT on the BSC network (BEP-20 USDT). You'll always need a small amount of BNB in your wallet to pay the network fee, even if you're sending USDT, because BNB is the gas token for BNB Chain.
