The important thing to understand about Microgaming in 2026 is that the games no longer come from Microgaming. In May 2022 the Isle of Man company sold its whole games business, the Quickfire distribution platform, the studios that made the content, and the Mega Moolah jackpot network, to Games Global, a separate Isle of Man company set up the year before. The firm that had been Microgaming has since rebranded itself Apricot and works on platform and systems rather than games. There is no UK enforcement action on that licence. Microgaming’s own former software licence has been withdrawn from the register, which is what you would expect once the games business moved across, so the account to check today is Games Global’s.
For most of thirty years Microgaming was a slots company on a large scale, and the famous titles are still in the catalogue that Games Global now runs: Mega Moolah, the progressive jackpot that set a Guinness world record for the largest online slot payout in 2015, along with Immortal Romance, Thunderstruck II and Book of Oz.
