Zappit Blackjack solves the most miserable moment in blackjack: being dealt a hard 15 or 16 against a dealer’s ten. In Zappit you can zap that hand away, throwing both cards back and taking a fresh two. The catch is a rule that quietly rewrites the whole game, and it is the reason the zap can exist at all.

How zapping works

When your first two cards total a hard 15, 16 or 17, the game offers to zap them: both cards are discarded and replaced with two new ones, at no additional cost. Your bet stays where it is. Those are precisely the totals basic strategy hates, the ones where every option is bad, so being handed a fresh start on them feels like being given money.

The rules, from the game itself

Правило Zappit Blackjack (Light & Wonder)
Палуби Six, reshuffled between every game
Hands Up to three, each needing its own bet
Виплати в блекджеку 3:2
Dealer rule Hits soft 17
Dealer 22 Pushes against a standing hand, but a player blackjack still beats it
Страхування 2:1, and still a bet to decline

The catch: a dealer 22 is a push

It is not free. In Zappit, if the dealer busts with exactly 22, the hand is a push against every player still standing rather than a win. That single rule is the engine of the whole game, and it is worth a great deal to the house, because a dealer 22 is one of the most common ways a dealer busts. You are trading away a slice of your best outcome, beating a busted dealer, in exchange for escaping your worst starting hands.

One exception is worth knowing, and the game’s own rules spell it out: a player blackjack still beats a dealer 22. It is the only hand the push rule cannot touch, exactly as in Блекджек перемикач, which shares a designer.

Blackjack still pays 3:2, which is more than variants like 21 Опік or Double Attack can say, and the dealer hits soft 17. Published analyses put the house edge at roughly 0.5% to 1% depending on the exact rules and on whether the player zaps correctly, which puts a well-played Zappit game in the same neighbourhood as an ordinary six-deck table rather than ahead of it.

When to zap, and when not to

The mistake is zapping everything the game offers. A hard 17 is a made hand: against a dealer 2 through 8 it wins often enough that throwing it away is a real loss, and the 22-push rule has already reduced what you gain from a fresh start. The clear zaps are the hands you would otherwise surrender or hit into near-certain trouble: 15 and 16 against a dealer 9, 10 or ace. The closer the dealer’s upcard is to a bust card, the less you want to give up a hand that can simply stand and wait.

Because our двигун стратегії does not model the zap mechanic or the 22-push rule, we do not publish a chart for this game, and a standard chart will misplay it: the push rule changes the value of standing on stiff totals throughout.

Where to play it

Zappit is a Geoff Hall design and online it is carried by the Light & Wonder network rather than being distributed everywhere. The free demo at the top of this page is that network’s own, and it can be slow to start or unavailable on some connections; if it does not appear, the “Game not loading?” link beside it points at practice tables that work anywhere.

Sourcing note: the deck count, hand limit, payouts, soft 17 rule and the 22-push (including that a blackjack beats it) were read from this game’s own paytable and rules screens. The zap totals are as the game’s published ruleset states them; confirm them in the game’s help panel if you intend to play for money, since operators can configure it differently.

ПОШИРЕНІ ЗАПИТАННЯ

Which hands can I zap?

Hard totals of 15, 16 and 17 on your first two cards. Both cards are discarded and replaced with two new ones at no extra cost, and your bet stays as it was.

What is the catch in Zappit?

A dealer bust of exactly 22 pushes against every standing player instead of losing. A 22 is one of the most common dealer busts, so you are trading a slice of your best outcome for an escape from your worst hands.

Should I zap every hand it offers?

No. A hard 17 is a made hand and wins often enough against a dealer 2 through 8 that throwing it away costs you. The clear zaps are 15 and 16 against a dealer 9, 10 or ace.

Where can I play Zappit Blackjack?

It is a Geoff Hall design that is effectively exclusive to the Bovada family of casinos rather than distributed across the market, which is why no free demo is offered on this page.
